Elijah Moore Entering the Transfer Portal

Well, Duke only returned 2 players from last year so it’s possible to break it all down and rebuild.
It’s a lot easier when you can rebuild around Cooper Flagg

It feels like Kline could also be taking over here and driving these decisions. He knows how much money the program has to spend and the value they can afford to spend at each position. And if the afford amount is greater than the market value of the player. We have to let them go. A GM would not be doing his job correctly if he isn’t taking account the numbers and involved in these matters of a player entering the transfer portal. Just a thought.

So are we losing the Roc Nation connection with Bell and Moore leaving?
Looks like that but are we losing anything or being set free from being held hostage?

wasn't most of his points vs. Tennessee in garbage time after the game was long over? you can't take anything from that game

no. He had 12 points in the first half along with a few rebounds and steal.

i don’t know how many minutes he played in the first half but I’m willing to bet red took him out when he started to score points.

Serious question, if JJ weren't a local kid would they be making him a priority?

I thought he and Cuffe were very undervalued by Red.
As bad as he treated Cuffe, it was 10 times worse for Moore.
No development time, phantom starter.
Like Cuffe, literally no plan with this kid.
And he was a 4 star freshman recruit
These 2, along with Taylor, had a real motor and infectious energy.
Best for this kid that he goes somewhere where he can be taught.
Before his injury, it was clear that he had lost all his joy.

People acting like a freshman making a few mistakes or not understanding the college game has never happened before.

The guy showed potential. Why are we running off young kids that show potential? We kept bell around for 3 years and he couldn’t do anything but shoot. And the guy wouldn’t even work to get open.

Moore was far from perfect. But you need good players. And Moore is going to be a good one imo.

It’s not so much running guys off but players looking for other opportunities. He wasn’t starting here next year and he knew it. Anthony and Womack are both more rounded players than Choppa. This was not a kid Red ran off, but someone who wants to play a major role. I think he could have been part of a three man guard rotation next year.

Because he’s not helping us win games. We need to win games to make tourneys. It’s really simple. How many shooting guards are we going to pay that can’t shoot and can’t play defense.

Gonna see real quick if Kline talent evaluation skills are legit.

If he turns this frog into a prince next year he can name his price moving forward

I only watched the first half of the year, but Moore was my favorite player. Seemed to have energy/upside.

Kadary we knew had talent. Copeland we knew had talent. Moore is a social media star. We see his highlights and overrate guys like him.
Hold on.
Our coaches and recruiters did.
And he’s who we could get out of HS.

But players and Analytics Experiment™ don’t coach the players. That might be the missing link.

We desperately, as a fan base, need to understand that Kline is a 30 year old scout who has access to the same numbers and same algorithms that everyone else has
