Most ppl will disagree but i believe he will stop with the mental mistakes, which are a reflection of being inexperienced, and will start really playing well. Clemson will be tough but he will be seasoned after that and expect a strong finish for him. He was much more accurate and made some great throws today. Only complaint is he needs to do better when forced to roll out but the reason hes forced to do that is everyone is covered anyways.

I bagged on devito last week and rightfully so imo but theres a lot i saw today that was encouraging from him.

Anyone who was paying attention or basically has eyes knew that a huge trade off between Dungey and DeVito was going to be the running game. The hedge was that DeVito was more of a true pocket passer that might fit our style of offense better. So far, the lack of rushing threat is not being offset by improved pocket passing, which is a function of o-line protection, solid wideout play, and decisive QB decision making.

We cannot keep running an RPO that simply does not have legitimate threats from the QB to keep the ball.

Doesn't matter. You always throw the ball at least to someone. Insane to even discuss it.

I said it was a mental mistake. Prob a bad one. If he does it again, then id be concerned. It really doesnt impact whether he turns out to be a good qb or not.

The td to triston was over the middle.
Im talking more to move up the field and quicken the pace. The touchdown was very nice though

I'm torn between two thoughts.

A. Babers told Tommy not to take hits because our lack of QB depth.
B. Tommy finally got the reigns and doesn't want to lose them by getting hurt. Therefore he doesn't want to get hit.

Never said it would. DeVito, Tom Brady, Dan Marino, Chip... who cares. Throwing the ball away on fourth down is a ridiculous play in any football game.

Devito throwing it away 3 times on 4th down tells me he’s selfish cares more about his stats than the team

So go pontificate about it in your own thread about that one play. Stop hijacking this one.

Dungey had intangibles you can’t teach which Tommy doesn’t have. Still think Tommy will be a very good QB when it’s all said and done. But having a true pocket passer behind an o-line that can’t block anything isn’t ideal. That’s why things worked with Dungey. He had the intangibles to make things happen when they weren’t there and he’s could extend plays.

Haha it's very relevant to your thread and I was not even the first to bring it up. And others obviously agree. It's a discussion about our QB who yes played better with some solid throws.

Wow I didn't even realize this game was still going on. Just saw MD has 63 points now.
