Erv on crutches..

I'm not even worried about this. Get Erv healthy and let Strickland rock this week. I bet Dungey has worked more with Strick than Erv up until now anyway

It's football injuries happen, but I don't get the comments where people think we don't need Erv for WF. This is probably the most important game of the season. We lose this I don't even want to consider what happens. We need all hands on deck, which leads me to believe it's a pretty good ding.

He's our biggest playmaker right now. The play calling will have to adjust. Id be scared of Dungey forcing throws to Ishmael. Hopefully the TEs will be more involved. Id be happy with a successful run game, and a few roll out play action passes to TEs and slot WRs.

I predict lots of rollouts. Dungey reportedly exhibits accuracy while on the move, something which showed itself last Friday. Cuts the # of reads he would have to make by cutting the field in half and would allow him to run (preferably out of bounds) if they don't respect his wheels.

Sorta like Hunt's injury. Wasn't touched.

Now I'm questioning the new turf.
I thought the same thing rewatching parts of the game. When you make cuts on the turf, there isn't nearly the amount of "give" that there would be with watered grass and dirt, plus, isn't turf "stickier" to help players' shoes grip? IMO, it was one of the best parts of the speculated retractable roof, adding grass during football season.

Irv is the one guy you need to get into space. but really his impact last week came on one play. the other TD catch I hope others can catch. his running last week didn't do anything. his 3rd TD was a scheme play that lets hope we see again and the other Hybrids make the play as well.

now if you said we were going to get him into space 5-6 times this week then his impact goes up. the fact we only did it once last week makes it hard to gauge how often we do it since it will awhile until we know how the scheme is creating mismatches.

But I saw him with an ice pack on his knee coming out for the 2nd half? Did he get injured during practice this week?
You are correct. It is his left knee, he had ice wrapped around it in the second half.

Narrative going into the season and game 1- "Last year was a fluke with injuries. Let's just get out of URI healthy".

Proceed to lost starting QB and most offensively skilled player.

The irony can't be topped, ladies and gents!
