ESPN new streaming service in the fall. Anyone know if this will include ACCN???

I am seeing that a lot of people with YTTV have trouble logging into ACCNX and ESPN says it is a Youtube issue, and Youtube says it is an ESPN issue. I know there are a lot of people on here who switched to YTTV. Are you able to log into ACCNX? I'm just starting to sort this all out. I have always had it with my Cox cable and ACCN.
Yes I have YouTubeTV. I also have DirecTV Satellite & I login to ACCNX with that. I'll do it with my YouTubeTV credentials in the next few days and let you know. I've had YouTubeTV for 2 years and the few times I've had a technical problem I've gotten excellent assistance from their technical people. Sometimes it takes a few days though.

Does anyone know if the ESPN subscription service will have a built in DVR, like how YouTube TV does?
I doubt it. As IIandz says they'll most likely rely on Video On Demand replays in their library.

Agree. ESPN really needs to upgrade their streaming technology compared to other sports like MLB. Especially wiht the rollout of this.

Never had an issue watching accnx on espn platform with YTTV credentials.

Not sure about the comment above regarding unlimited TV’s. I believe it works via ip. The one house would get unlimited views but his buddies would only be able to watch on 1 tv. Once they logged in on a second tv his house would be signed out. At least that’s my experience.

Agreed. MLBs app is top notch. Easy to find exactly what you need. The ability to start from the beginning without showing the score. The ability to fast forward to a given inning in the game. Super fast, amazing picture with no buffering. It's the best app on my TV.

I think the issue with ESPN is the inventory is just so large. MLB you have a dozen or so live games a day. on ESPN you have hundreds of live games. They also have an issue in that the feed is coming from so many sources they don't really control.

I believe with Youtube basic, up to 3 TVs can be watching in the same house at the same time. With the 4k you get unlimited number of TVs?
We are looking at cutting the chord and getting both Youtube and the ESPN package. Youtube does not get ACCNX which carries the women's games that I watch. Also considering HULU live TV and not sure how they will be handing the HULU, Disney ESPN portion of their package.
We have Hulu Live and in my experience it seems that the ACCNX content shows up on ESPN+ (included)

Maybe that's the key - honestly never thought about it but that could be where we're all just watching on 1 TV (shout out to quad box)

Often it does but not always. If you just subscribe to ESPN+ and have cable/satellite subscription with ACCN I doubt you'd be able to see a game that is only on ACCNX and not on ESPN+.

Confirmation that subscribers to cable, satellite, streaming bundles will have access to the new ESPN app.

Funny you say this because Disney's streaming tech came from BAMTech which was part owned by... The MLB lol

Eventually they’ll have access. When the new service goes live on 8/21 a lot of existing “Pay TV” subscribers won’t be able to access it because there aren’t authentication agreements in place between Disney and the TV services. That includes Comcast and Altice. Gonna have to wait a while for those to get lit up.

I had YTTV for 5 years and never missed a game or had any trouble with ACCX or ESPN+ log in credentials.

I switched to Sling (added all available channels) for this season, and it seems to have all the approriate channels and sub channels so I will report back on that. I saved $50+ a month plus my wife got a couple extra channels she wanted, without losing any important to us.

Im not worried because if there is a game I am not seemingly getting access to, I can just restart my YTTV real time and still not miss the game. Pretty low risk.

Sling has been terrific, hoping we get access to the ESPN DTC app. I can't find a definitive answer to that anywhere.

Here's the latest, Sling and many others such as YouTube TV not included, yet:

The ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming service will not initially be available for universal pay television authentication, as first reported by Alex Sherman of CNBC. While Disney has been successful in garnering the necessary rights from providers such as DirecTV, Fubo, Charter, Verizon Fios, Hulu and other small operators, there are a variety of other services that are not currently slated to offer the new service upon its launch.

Sports Media Watch has learned that discussions with other major distributors are ongoing and that most of the pay television domain is expected to have the necessary rights later in the year. Sherman reported that some of the platforms that do not possess the entitlement rights include Comcast Xfinity, YouTube TV and Sling TV, along with Cox cable and Dish satellite television.

the main issue with the tech is that the app themselves is shoddy. Watching ESPN+ on Hulu/disney is smooth vs watching it on the ESPN app.

But we really don't know how the new app will be. Not until August 21. Could be improved.

Bamtech was one of the most predatory employers in sports - if not any media business

I know this gets discussed in various threads every year but I want to know the best options for NCAA football streaming. I have an antenna on my house for the local channels so really we are talking about getting the ESPN channels, ACC Network, etc... In the past, I usually just did Sling TV Orange & Blue Package plus the Sports Extra add-on. With my daughter single handily trying to put me in the poor house (car, insurance, new dance school) plus a myriad of other expenses, I am trying to be a bit more budget conscious this year when it comes to watching college football (not watching at all is not an option - 1st world problems we have).

I can just get the Sling Orange package which will give me the ESPN channels (but no ACC network) for about $45 (not bad). They also have a weekend only pass (Fri-Sunday) for $15 which would be the cheapest but I'd be limited with the games I could watch. Looks like if I want everything, I'm in the at least $80/month range. How are you watching this year?

Good old fashioned cable

Easiest method? Hit the high seas. Second easiest? Probably the ESPN + Fox joint streaming service they're launching which should get you BIG, ACC, SEC and most of BIG12 for football, throw in Big East for basketball. That is expected to be around $40/month and launches tomorrow.

Correction, the bundle doesnt launch until october 2nd which is dumb. SO instead itll be 50/month if you want both services

The new all-inclusive ESPN App debuts tomorrow. This is for streamers who do not have a cable/satellite/streaming service. I believe it will be $29.99 a month. No contract. Keep it as long as you need them cancel it. It will include all ESPN channels, including ACC Network. I'm not sure about ACCNX but it might. It might also include ESPN+. Check it out.

For those already with full cable/satellite/streaming bundles that include ESPN, apparently the full new ESPN app will be available at no charge sometime over the next few months as ESPN and the bundle providers make their own agreements. Some already have but possibly a slow rollout to those subscribers.

That is dumb to launch it well into the football season (I assume some glitch is causing them to delay the launch). After reading up on it, it seems like a great option to have access to the majority of games.
