ESPN reporting Avery Johnson is taking the University of Alabama job

Don't really get that one. It's not like St Johns hiring a legend alum like Mullin. Johnson went to Southern and doesn't have any college experience. He'll have some name recognition I suppose, but I think he'll need to hire a good staff with recruiting ties to be successful. I don't think he's quite the big name that will cause Bama fans to forget about spring football to concentrate on basketball for 5 minutes. But Avery seems like a great guy so hope he does well.

At least he has coaching experience at the highest level. Mullin can't claim the same.
