Evan Miyakawa Transfer Portal Rankings

The bottom line for next year is we have some answers. Red can actually run offense for guys who can score. Last year we hoped someone could score, next year we have guys you expect to score. We also have scorers coming off the bench. Even watching Kiyan in videos, he has skills that no one on last years team had and maybe more than the experienced guys on next years team.

“Overrated“ by who? I think we have a practical understanding of what he brings.
Overrated by the fact people think he’s essential to team success. i mean he’s really good at basketball by the fact he plays division 1

That's nebulous at best. Even the bench players/reserves are "essential to team success."

Yeah and so here’s the thing. JJ clearly has mental challenge with his game. He’s incredibly gifted/talented. I know, it’s a message board, but this kid is all Cuse, hometown kid, I just wish we wouldn’t post things like this that he can read and get in his head. Even if it’s a 0.01% chance, bc he hopefully has good enough support and guidance to traverse these challenges. I’m a Cuse fan…

Did you read your own post?

He is a high volume scorer that is wildly inconsistent and is not the type of player that fits well on a good team. He is the classic player that can aggregate points on a bad team. On a good team he will actually be detrimental to success. If the plan next year is to field a good team, then he will have to alter his role significantly. If the plan is to have him score a bunch of points and be heavy on the ball, the team will be bad. that is why I wish he left. Not because I think he is a bad guy or negative character, but because he will be given license to crap the bed and better players will be relegated to lesser roles than they should have. is that specific enough?

You one upped me. I said he has issues with his shooting and you called him a head case.

It's all about exploiting matchups. We've seen him take on some of the better guards in the league and own them, but then we saw him get punked. Those were his words not ours.

True Jekyll and Hyde player. The good news is that whenever Hyde comes out that we have guys that can come in. Autry needs to be on top of that with the rotations though.

We could be ranked #1 by Evan. Don’t matter. This is a deep hole trying to win back customers and fans that have checked out. It will take an ncaa bid and winning a game or two before fans might start paying attention the following year.

I didn’t ask you for specifics on his faults. Your nebulosity wasn’t about that. You said he was “overrated,” with the assertion that some ambiguous collection of “people” think he’s “essential to team success.” You keep projecting ignorance unto everyone else, while implying you’re the only sage. Point is, ‘we’ know what kind of player he is. The rest of your diatribe is just kind of ugly, frankly. He’s our player. And what he does and the volume in which he does it should be managed by the staff.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Talk to me after the NIL tournament and after we haven't scratched and clawed for a nailbiter W vs. toothpaste.

After last year's preseason prognostications, I am thinking it's best to be wait-and-see (at least for me)... To each their own, of course.
Our Basketball teams don't play defense and haven't for three years. There is no way on earth these incoming players are going to change that. I hope I'm wrong but we are a very poorly coached team and that won't change because of transfers... It's gonna be a long year.

Come on, at least give us until the first half of the first exhibition game

Why do you keep using the word nebulous? I’m trying to figure out why and really have no idea.

Is he using it properly, because if he is, I find it nebulous of you to call him out on it.

it appropriately expressed what i was trying to say. The followup was about that specific word, and the question to which it pertained was not addressed/understood.

Do you not like the word? Is it your "moist?"

Boise State and UC Santa Barbara rate above us? Not good. I get that we return the two best players from last year’s team, but I thought our transfers would rate higher quality.

“Average transfer” ranking gets killed by Zephir and Souare being end of the bench nobodies.

Bingo. When you remove them from the average we jump up quite a bit.

Spoken like a legitimate hoops guru. Can't believe you don't have your own podcast, column and autobiography with a forward by Etan Thomas.

Good thing we got that out of the way now. So what’s the plan for hoops season then?

7th doesn't seem that impressive to me.
It's not. And if you look closely at the haul, compared to other programs around the country, it isn't all that great IMO. Proof is on the court though.
