Even Though Yesterday was Sobering...

Read that last night. I kind of feel sorry for them because they are irrelevant in football. No one knows they exist any more as anything other than a laughingstock that lost to Buffalo by 29 and Towson by two touchdowns.

Their basketball board is melting the *** down because they lost yet another 3* recruit. 3 star guys tend to be the bedrock four year guys for basketball, but to completely lose your s*** when you lose one is unbecoming of a program of their former stature.

But if they can take some pleasure in us getting crushed by a legit #3 team in the country in front of a packed Carrier Dome with nearly 49,000 in attendance, then good for them.

It's funny, I've never met anyone who has had a positive experience with uconn fans at MSG, Hartford or Storrs. Everyone I've talked to has had uconn start something with them beyond good natured trash talk. And this is pure speculation, but there's got to be something about UConn at the coaching, athletic director and presidential level that has kept them out of a conference.

That's true. Plus it is just better to be in the ACC than in the no man's land that is the AAC.

SU had a great opportunity. They didn't take advantage. Even a competitive loss would have been good. But, long term they are in the right conference and someday the Shafer Error will be over and they can get back to competitive football. In the meantime, hoops and lax will be a lot of fun.

I can't believe I opened that link. What a cry for help.

Someone queue Stuart Smalley.

I will go to bed slightly happier knowing who I'm not.

I purchased a 12 pack of Lone Star yesterday just for you. Cheap beer rules !

I love it!!

Yesterday at the casino (my wife and i had an overnight/wedding) we were in a bar there and they had UC bottles. I literally acted like. 10 year old girl at a justin beiber concert when i saw it.

Sounds like me when I found that my favorite liquoria was carrying original formula Schlitz about a year ago.

Funny that as their teams sink, they lash out at Syracuse.

Glad you do. The guy makes little sense to me.

I make perfect sense ... we are competitive in football much more so than Yukon ... and to say "Shafer error" is a little premature seeing as how we are only 5 games into the season ... who am I kidding how could I expect anyone from Storrs to understand college football ... I mean what you have maybe 10 years of perspective on what big boy football might even look like ...

It's funny they spent so much time watching our game. I haven't watched one second of UConn football that didn't involve Syracuse. I guess that's what you do when the team you cheer for is suddenly an FCS team.

No you make no sense, since my post said nothing about UCONN other than SU is in the right conference to succeed going forward. And UCONN is in the AAC which is a death spiral. With Calhoun gone and the AAC being a terrible hoops conference, watch their hoops program erode as well.

I was agreeing with Bayside that SU is in the right place for long-term success. Shafer and his staff squandered a great opportunity on Saturday. We can disagree about whether he is the coach for long-term success. Yes, it is only five games, but I don't see the comportment and the presence of a successful head coach. How can you expect the team to play with poise and discipline when the HC can't control himself on the sidelines and looks like a deer in the headlights in all of his newsers?

Hi Scooch. Well played. But you know the ACC was always my first choice. I think they are now in the best situation for all sports. For awhile there it didn't look possible. Kudos to D. Gross for pulling it off.

If were left behind in the AAC then the Patriot League would be a real option cuz that monstrosity makes CUSA look good.

Are you guy who thought SU should drop to the Patriot League after the first round of realignment left us in the Big East? If you're not, I apologize. But if you were, you were 100% wrong then and your views on e "Shafer Error" are more than stupid.
