I am trying to temper my expectations. That said, I am failing miserably. I would be ok with making the tourney, is round of 32/ sweet 16 being greedy?I would agree with this but if the nil is as good as I’ve heard we need to make the tourney

Greedy? We’ve tolerated 10 years of misery. We’re allowed to have high expectations here.I am trying to temper my expectations. That said, I am failing miserably. I would be ok with making the tourney, is round of 32/ sweet 16 being greedy?
I don’t want to have to drag my a** to the Dome with a pit of dread in my stomach.A product that’s not only worth watching but scheduling your day to watch. Under the last few years of JB and Red I stopped planning my day around the game to watch. Product was unwatchable at times. If the product improves so will the wins.
This is a good philosophy for all of life.Take that handful of people that have upset you so much and ignore them. It’s far easier to ignore than let a small group get under your skin. Unless this is a passive aggressive way to be angry at anyone who expresses some optimism at the hire and looking at those with zero tolerance I don’t get bothering yourself so emphatically with the unique opinion of a few.
i think they'll be in the tournament, but money doesn't guarantee anything. gives you a better chance obviously. otherwise kentucky would be cutting down the nets right now. Then we shouldn't have hired Gerry. Because we hired him so we had the money to build a roster that would be in the NCAA Tournament
I'd kill for the season Kentucky had.i think they'll be in the tournament, but money doesn't guarantee anything. gives you a better chance obviously. otherwise kentucky would be cutting down the nets right now.

So, you know the roster? Then we shouldn't have hired Gerry. Because we hired him so we had the money to build a roster that would be in the NCAA Tournament
No, but my expectation is still to make the tournament. So, you know the roster?
1. Hire Gerry to raise massive NILSo, you know the roster?
Sure, but when you're eating out of the trash, you're not complaining when someone gives you a dollar slice of pizza.I want better. You hit what you aim for.
This is correct.1. Hire Gerry to raise massive NIL
2. Use NIL to build tournament roster
3. Gerry's "coaching acumen" should be able to get said roster to the tournament
If Gerry cannot build a tournament roster with the NIL money his hiring brought about, then he was not the right hire.
I didn't think I had to spell it out but here we are.
I’m glad we’re not playing the Vegas tournament. I’d hate for us to go winless out there and have that “we’re already done in November” feeling yet again. Hopefully, skipping that will give Gerry flexibility to endure a couple minor setbacks and the ability to gradually build things throughout the season. This is correct.
And I'll add, the support Gerry gets from here isn't likely to get any higher unless he wins.
The clearest way to show Syracuse is back to winning is by getting safely into the tournament.
I think we have a good schedule overall. And agreed, Vegas was probably going to be too risky.I’m glad we’re not playing the Vegas tournament. This really shows how far we've fallen as a program. There was nothing like getting up for big games against ranked teams thinking about winning 2/3 or 3/3 and getting ranked after a great showing. That early MSG run in 2009 against a ranked Cal & UNC springboarded that team to national prominence.I’m glad we’re not playing the Vegas tournament. Tournaments like this solidify you later in the season as a top seed and keep you off the bubble, even if you lose 2 of the 3 against good teams.
Stocking the schedule with NET 300 teams doesn't make SU Basketball must-watch TV.
But we have fallen. Why make it worse? I’m not asking for NET 300 teams but three top ten teams in three days is a bit much. This really shows how far we've fallen as a program. I guess so. I’m just sick of losing hope early. If we're a bad team, it doesn't make it worse, it just shows we're a bad team.
If we want to be a tournament team, you take these games - because it's preparing you for the tournament. Winning big games breeds confidence.
