Big piece in my opinion.
Hackett and the other TE’s played the same role Elmore plays. The jumbo sets were important sets in the past because we had multiple TE’s in there along with Elmore. Goal line sets with him and Shrader will makes us a lot better in the redzone. I’ve never liked him at DT. Wasn’t good there. This is obviously good, given we have a versatile, experienced player back.
I'm curious though what the plan is beyond Elmore at fullback. We don't have another player like him. We didn't run any fullback action that I can recall when he was playing at guard.
When he goes, does that just disappear from the offense?
I wonder if Elmore could also be part of the solution at DT.
Tucker’s TD vs ND doesn’t happen without that block. It was a text book wham blockHe had some great blocks in the ND game

I imagine you are from the back country using the term 'boy' three times. It's kind of like me calling you hillbillyThat boy can play some football. He can play left, he can play right, don't make no difference. He can block, tackle, score the touch down, snap the ball, and kick the extra point. Hell, the boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, and paint your back porch. I'm telling ya, the boy can plain outplay football.

It’s not just a full back position. Elmore allows them a lot of formational versatility. He is in the game for 11, 12, 21 and 22 personnel. ( which could be a fullback or TE role). It makes teams have to decide what defensive personnel they want to use and how many players they want to commit to the box. Staying 4 or 5 wide makes you very predictable. This is a veer and shoot offense. You can’t have the power run element staying in 4/5 Wr sets. There’s nothing Elmore provides that the current DL can’t do. I disagree when you say his talent is being waisted.Love the headline FB/TE/OL/DL
here’s an idea. Let’s get our 5 OL and TE able to block so we don’t need a full time fullback and can go 4 wide and/or 5 when we flex the TE. Put Elmore back on the DLine and use him at FB when we need it. He can play both ways.
Full-time fallback not only wastes Elmore’s talent but using a full time fullback is just not the way the offense was designed and it limits what we can do.
