What is GMac up to these days? Too lazy to googleSomeone should have given McDonald that formula. "1 WR + 1 blocker + 4 defenders = tackle for loss"

Still at NC State as WR coach/passing coord. What is GMac up to these days? Too lazy to google
Coach Shafer was unbelievably good to Dan Johnson. When Dan needed something to get his mind off his situation, Scott Shafer came through. Repeatedly. You do know who sits just next to the visitor's coaches box and is about as loud and obnoxious as a fan can get, don't you?
Here's a hint - he's quite a bit older than 22...![]()
I like to think of this game similar to USA/Japan circa WWII. We are going to completely obliterate them, then have no ill will for the next 100 years.Coach Shafer was unbelievably good to Dan Johnson. Even if he never lifted a finger for Dan, I happened to be randomly paired with him at a fundraiser dinner years ago. I was extremely impressed with him then, just based on some casual talk about why he coaches and what he enjoys about it. He is everything I could hope for if I had a son and he wanted to play football.
I can't and won't talk smack with him in the coaches box. I am going to root for Syracuse and cheer when the team does well. But I will also always root for Coach Shafer's team. As long as they aren't playing Syracuse.
the memory of this just got me angry all over again. Seriously. I'm sitting here in my office actually angry at the memory of watching incredulously as Syracuse would try a wide receiver screen while outnumbered by defenders. Remember that Adonis Ameen Moore pitch play from the end zone that ended in a safety? ALL THE MEMORIES ARE FLOODING BACK NOW. GAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!Someone should have given McDonald that formula. Not sure how good that analogy is. WWII vets held much ill will toward them, especially the POWs.I like to think of this game similar to USA/Japan circa WWII. We are going to completely obliterate them, then have no ill will for the next 100 years.
It wasn't. I was reaching. Fact is football is a game but almost always everyone wakes up on Sunday, war destroys families and changes nations. I retract my not-so clever crappy analogy. It's disrespectful to anyone who has served and I apologize. Not sure how good that analogy is. WWII vets held much ill will toward them, especially the POWs.

That's cool. I've had the pleasure of treating some of the few WWII vets that are still with us. They have some really interesting stories, not all of which are pleasant. One was held as a POW by the japanese and tortured considerably. It wasn't. I was reaching. I plan to be in that same spot around 130 lolI plan in being in my seat by 230 at the rail right behind the visitor sideline. Back in the day, when he was DC, shaf used to warm up the dbs right around the 40 yardline and chat with my friend and i week to week. We would chat about the offense we would be defending that day and he always thanked us for coming to the game. Miss him and would be cool to see him. Nothing but good vibes for the man.

Better than my seats they give parents ughThey are indeed great seats, see the visiting team upclose each week.

They stick us in the corner 128Lol, where are your seats? I am in 115.
Thought of that against CCSU - they actually had a blocker running out front of the receiver! Was that so hard??the memory of this just got me angry all over again. Seriously. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but Shafer, to me, will always be the guy who punted from the opponent's 30 yard line.
Coach P actually had sustained success though and probably deserved the recognition. Shafer not so much...
Shafer took over a program that Marrone had trending in the right direction. I liked Shafer as a d coordinator. I think his biggest mistake was with the staff he assembled. Not a big P fan but he had a pretty good run at SU.
As a coordinator, he's historically been a box guy. He likes it up there.
I just really hope we don't have any idiot fans.
Coached from the box last week
