Having gone pretty far in corporate America, there are few people, really few, who walk away from a dream job, where they gave up more money to take, because they don't agree with a hire they are forced to make. maybe you are one of those people, but at the end of the day, Red was going to be the coach.

Interesting thing to keep in mind is that next year there will be 8 more at large bids when the tourney inevitably goes to 76 teams . If Autry was gonna sneak in this year he might’ve kept sneaking in.

Multiple Q3 losses remove the Possibility of getting that at large bid with just an average resume. We’re literally going to have to beat everyone then win in the ACCT.

The silver lining is that Autry either wins out or we get a new coach and he has a much better chance of making the tourney.

Can’t stress enough how important it is for the new coach to make the tourney his rookie year with an expanded field.

That's what is alarming. We have enough talent to beat teams like Hofstra and BC with talent alone, it takes pure crappiness to play down to the level of these teams with this much talent.

I feel very confidant in saying that JW has been working at it for a while.

I've been there where I had to give up a dream job, not over a hire but something much worse that could put me into legal jeopardy. Won a lawsuit over it.

I disagree, insane is letting red keep coaching. It’s malpractice and a waste of the players and fans time. Is it a good idea to hire devo? No. Could it be any worse? Not a chanc.

If we let him go now (which we won't), Engelstad would have to be the interim head coach. Devo doesn't make any sense.

I DONT WANT TO MAKE THE TOURNAMENT AT THIS POINT. IT MAY PREVENT THE INEVITABLE TRUTH. RED ISNT IT.

Red has to go 9-3 the rest of the way to sniff the bubble. Based on our remaining schedule, there’s an extremely low likelihood of that happening. He’ll be lucky to win 5 or 6 games the rest of the way.

I knew last year was a lost season after the Youngstown State game. And we were 3-0 at that point.

But I was told, repeatedly, and with increasing dismissiveness, that the real issue was NIL.

Red simply isn’t capable of running a P4 program. He has no vision, he’s a disinterested fundraiser, he’s lousy at talent evaluation, he’s bad at preparing his team to play with purpose and focus, and he’s terrible at in game coaching.

I would be for Red being let go now and letting Englestad take over for the rest of the season. But, we HAVE to have a national search. I am sure Wildhack will land a big time coach. There is too much potential here. Whoever forced the Red hire should have the crap smacked out of them.

Different but still on principles, if I'm the head of the athletic department but can't hire the best coaches or do a real search for a historic program, this stuff makes me look bad. Id have a hard time going along with that. Maybe I'm different, but have stood on principles before.
