Player development??? Wake up...We are all fans of a different era that has passed. There is no player development now with rosters changing every season. this is the portal era and things are not as they used to be.
hard to feel sorry for college kids making 5x's my salary. my attitude now is "do yer elfin job loser !"

Coaching is over rated compared to talented players. Get better players and we will win more.
Yeah, that's why Butler made the Final 4 two years in a row so long ago. Because they literally had the best players and Brad Stevens just rolled the ball out. Get out of here with that crap.

We may be better off letting the players sub themselves in and out of games then.
i'm not gonna get down on the hockey line substitutions cuz i know i used to hate it when other teams would have dudes lined up at the scorers table waiting for the next whistle. JB played 6.5 . didn't deviate unless there was foul trouble. our guys typically led the league (and nation) in minutes played. but i still believe fresh legs make a difference. don't save nothing. go all out til the next line change .

Dr Bill, I admire your passion for Syracuse athletics. Sometimes being a fan blinds you from the obvious. I love Red. Was one of my favorite players (wiho can ever forget the Missouri sweet 16 game?). But he’s in over his head. We need a change. We need to move on from the old guard. We will rise again. Go Orange!!

yeah, you need good players. If only we could get players like Hofstra and B.C. Coaching matters when your coach has no feel for the game. Red has none. Takes out hot shooters for no reason. So once again, you think he is doing a good job? Just say it.

I remember all the justifications on retaining Red towards the end of last year - we’d lose recruits, we’d lose Melo’s support and his money, Red just needed time, yadda yadda yadda… It’s been very easy to not really care this year, because once it was clear Red was coming back getting to this point was inevitable. It’s a shame we had to crap away a year on an obviously lost cause for delusional reasons - but for all kinds of entirely political reasons apparently we had to.

The sad thing is leadership at Syracuse has spent 25+ years burning any credibility they have - so there’s a part of me that wouldn’t be shocked if Red was back next year. Him here this year was a stupid decision after numerous asinine decisions over the years, so I have limited confidence people in charge won’t just keep making stupid decisions.
If he's back next year then Wildhack has no credibility and no influence. Would be giving up on the basketball program for a long long time.

So long as it was during the regularly scheduled line change.
They should install hockey boards so the whole line can hop over it - for added drama.
I have come to the conclusion that the posters on this site are just fans and don't know Shizit about basketball. Some of these comments about what you think a coach can or can't do relative to in game strategy is laughable. I pose this question to all of the so called hoops experts in the 315: Was Coach B.oeheim a good coach? If so, why didn't he continue to win big in the later stages of his career? Did he forget how to coach? Were the quality of players not the same? Did the changing landscape of College Basketball prevent him from making the necessary adjustments to remain successful?

He actually had a talent problem at the end of his coaching career because the recruiting fell off.
