Fire Autry

Guess no one remembers that he was let go after 7 years. Also the major headline was Coach K coming out and trashing Ohio state for firing coaches mid year.
who cares what Coach K says, he's not the pope of college basketball, although he thought he was. Everytime Duke had a rough year he'd quit on the season and leave the team with his mysterious back injury and let his assistants pile up the losses.

Id say all things considered things here are pretty tame, you should see the kentucky board, and they are going to the tournament. Years ago bama fans wanted Saban fired because he got blown out by lsu one game.
Syracuse fans are incredibly mild all things considered. I always chuckle when people characterize us as uniquely tough on players or coaches. We’re really not.

I do think it actually helps a little for her to remind people to touch grass. People say racist stuff about him all the time with the “DEI” baloney, someone tried to humiliate him on a call-in radio show, etc. For all we know the guy’s probably getting death threats. I admire her sticking up for someone she knows to be a good person and just suggesting we turn th temp down. That’s not going to change what happens at the end of the season or sooner.
Well a couple dumbasses on this board say the DEI stuff I can’t say I’ve see it anywhere else, not that I’m actively seeking out

Excellent point. We are living in a uniquely unhinged time, with angry people everywhere.
I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Look, I hear ya' and agree with you're basic premise, but I do think you're being a bit naive about the whole situation. The level of nastiness we're witnessing towards Red isn't happening in a vacuum - look around at social media when it comes to politics, sports, entertainment, etc. This is just a carry-over of the toxic climate in general- it's why haters rule the roost.
Fans, whether SU or otherwise, have ALWAYS veered towards assholic behavior. I remember JB getting pummeled relentlessly because he "cant coach & can't win the big one"- all pronouncements by misinformed, entitled fans who couldn't coach a peewee team, but swore they knew more than the HC. It was only when the wins piled up and it became obvious when the negatoids stepped back, and of course the new line of attack evolved into "he stacked his wins record w/ cupcakes" blah blah blah.
It's simply the nature of the beast, amplified 10000x in our current media environment.
As one medical professional to another, I recommend avoiding meathead message boards, podcasts, and any other outlet that caters to negativity...which basically means about 95% of them. Let the patients congregate amongst themselves- its a lot healthier for you and your overall well-being. You're welcome!
JMHO ;)
"Assholic"? Is that a word?

I'm glad that settles the Kiyan stuff, now we can finally put it to bed!

Syracuse basketball: Adrian Autry talks Kiyan Anthony DNP, FLJ comments and Cal game vs. Chris Bell (nunesmagician.com)

Question: On how to balance the minutes of Kiyan Anthony when metrics suggest he’s not playing well and dealing with the outside noise:
Adrian Autry: “I think at the end of the day the constant communication and you know, obviously, you know, as a coach you have to make a decision sometimes. It’s just decisions that you make. Like I said, it was a game decision. It wasn’t anything more than that. I just kind of made a decision and that was that.

Q: Where does Kiyan need to improve to earn more playing time:

AA: “Everybody has to keep improving. We have to keep improving. We all have to improve as a team collectively. I thought we defended really well — well enough against Virginia. I saw some improvements there. Offensively we still have to be able to shoot the ball better. We have to take care of the basketball and collectively that’s what we all have to get better at.”

AA, a true master of just not answering the question

"Assholic"? Is that a word?
As coined by my Dad, it was when I was a kid.
Similar and related to an addictive behavior scenario-
Alcoholic: addicted to alcohol, can't stop drinking.
Assholic: addicted to acting/behaving like an anal orifice,
ie: "He can't stop acting like an azzhole" or " You kids stop w/ that assholic behavior".

Great. Really clarified things there. …..

a couple dumbasses? Prominent insiders have indirectly, discreetly implied that DEI was part of the calculus when it became a Gerry vs Red decision. They just called it "optics" but it's essentially the same thing if they had reason to believe Gerry was the better candidate.
