Did you go to the Maryland game in 2019?

Getting boat raced by 30 at halftime didn’t feel great and sticking it out to see them get beat by 43 felt even worse. The wicked sunburn from the section we were in was also a nice reminder for the next week that not all away games are worth the trip.

I didn't, but the football game is just a small part of the experience of an away game.

I'm still getting to see friends I haven't seen in months or years, tailgating, and getting to check out a stadium for the first time.

Yeah, I had a great time the Maryland day. Game sucked, but the tailgate was great, they sold beer at the stadium, postgame was great. A bunch of us had a blast hanging out.

Didn't have such a great time the next morning though.

If you have an opportunity and the means to go, you have to go. Regardless of the results, it’ll be worth it in the end.

I went to Tallahassee in 2005 to watch Gerg coach us, still had a great time and would do it again. Can't be any worse than that.

Yeah, I think you're right. He's now a bigger FSU basketball fan and even goes to women's sports when he needs to, and there is nothing wrong with that, by the way ;-)

I was at the ND game on Sunday, my first at FSU. I highly recommend it, incredible atmosphere.

I'm going to the SU game there as well. my kid is a freshman, I may buy seasons for the next 4 years just to spend time with her.

The only downside I've seen is a shortage of hotel rooms. The SU game is parents weekend. We would have been 20 miles outside of Tallahassee this weekend but someone gifted us a hotel room. Fortunately we found a house for the SU game, but it took more effort than it probably should have.

We are doing a FineMess Tailgate at FSU this year. I have tickets on the 45 yard line. Ticket, Tailgate with Food and Beer is $45 per person. We will have some FSU fans at the tailgate.

I will say my best times with regard to Syracuse football over the past 15 years are mostly on the road. Most have probably been blow out losses but kind of goes with the territory considering our track record. Including two games at Clemson. Just doesn't get to me much anymore.

The Shafer GT loss we were back tailgating by halftime.
