Welcome to National Crayola Crayon Day!

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet…no, we’re not talking about a rainbow, but rather just some of the 400 different shades of crayon colours Crayola has produced since 1903! What a perfect opportunity to celebrate its bright and colourful addition to the world with Crayola Crayon Day!

Crayola began its life as a company when cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over a pigment business in 1885 that Edwin’s father owned. Since then, they have produced a core set of 120 crayon colours; but they have also come out with many unique sets; including metallic coloured crayons, gem tones colours, and even scented ones.

So, why not let your inner child out on Crayola Crayon Day? Find a colouring book and a box of Crayola crayons, and get to work? It’s a therapeutic and enjoyable way to pass some time, and you can even hang your finished picture on your fridge when you’re done!

Part II - Syracuse Basketball Final Four Predictions (the juice; staff)

Syracuse plays North Carolina in the National Semifinal on Saturday evening. In preparation for the game, columnists Jeff Irvine and Steve Auger break down the game and give us their opinions. Yesterday, columnists Matt Goodman and Jim Stechschulte did the same.

Steve Auger

As Malachi Richardson harnessed his best Wyatt Earp, and the Virginia Cavaliers were once again reminded that March is a cruel mistress, I came to the realization that I just might be one of those guys who Jim Boeheim says knows nothing about anything. Thanks in large part to this gem. With four wins in the books, Syracuse now turns its attention to the Tar Heels. The only thing that really separates these two squads is size and depth; North Carolina has more of both.

But the 2-3 zone is doing what it does and the rebounding numbers in the previous two games between these schools (both NC wins) favored the Heels by only four, 73-69. Syracuse will need Tyler Roberson to continue his rebounding dominance (almost 12 RPG in the tournament) to help negate Carolina’s size along with getting a couple of shooters hot from beyond the arc. In a season that has made very little sense, 10-seed Syracuse will continue to defy the odds and live to see Monday night. Syracuse 77 North Carolina 72.

NCAA Final Four: Syracuse's Band of Brothers Proves Worthy of the Quest (PS; editorial)

Once upon a time, a band of brothers, suited in Orange, was tested time and again. Nary a person had faith in their survival from the start. Some questioned their worthiness, as a lowly No. 10, to be in the company of acclaimed greats.

Their scowling leader continued to dispatch them onto the court of hoops. The brothers suffered setbacks and conquests along the way. Still no one, even the bros, could believe their rise to the storied glory of the NCAA Final Four.

On this road, these Orange jousters had banished lightweights and slayed the mighty, from Dayton to Middle Tennessee State University and Gonzaga to Virginia. The bros soldiered on as they conquered the best and left the rest.

At their zenith, the band of brothers was faced with the fiercest of opponents off the battlefield. The doubters piled on. Naysayers across the land roared with condemnation: Who are these warriors? How did they arrive at this pinnacle? What sun-starved kingdom, populated by pale followers, did they hail from? How dare they storm the basketball elite?

Inside Apizza Regionale: Dinosaur Owner's New Joint Opens Thursday (PS; Cazentre)

The smell of the wood fire tells you this is a place with local restaurant legend John Stage's signature on it.

When you get to the blackened and blistered Neapolitan-influenced pizzas and the long list of Italian-style Negroni cocktails on the bar menu, you know it's a little different.

Apizza Regionale opens at 5 p.m. Thursday at 260 W. Genesee St., in the spot once occupied by Mimi's Bakery & Cafe. After Thursday's opening, regular hours will be 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday; 5 to 11 p.m. Friday; 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday; and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

It's operated by John Stage, founder of the original Dinosaur Bar-B-Que across the street and the nine Dinos that followed, and his friend and former Dino bar manager, Paul Messina.

It's the 11th restaurant that Stage has helped create, but the first that is not a Dinosaur.

NCAA video says organization promotes "academics, well-being and fairness" on shuttle bus to Final Four that includes Syracuse, UNC.

I just picture those tables filled with "reporters" and the one on the end leaning toward the one next to him "Syracuse are cheaters and they don't belong here, pass it on."
Something like this, perhaps??
Btw- that's Gottlieb playing the Cagney role: "Syracuse is in?? They're still not dead? Aaaaargh"!!
