Almost everyday you see a 404 error or Not found message while surfing the Internet. This error occurs when your computer is not able to communicate with a server or server can't find what was requested. Since the decimal form of April 4 coincides with 404, this day has become 404 Day.
April 4 is a special day for Electronic Frontier Foundation, that organizes a day of action against censorship in public and school libraries. According to the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) public and school libraries have to censor and restrict access to the websites, that might include obscene or pornography images, harmful to minor images in exchange for federal funding.
Unfortunately, the filters block the constitutionally protected websites, like the websites with vitally important health information, websites of art museums. Due to keyword blocking the filters also block the content, that can not be legally prohibited, for instance, medical information about breast cancer and chicken breasts. At the same time filters are not always reliable, since they do not block thumbnails of an adult sexual nature.
404 Day action against censorship in libraries should raise public awareness of filters and unnecessary restrictions. The bloggers and librarians can write about their experiences with blocked websites, Internet filtering and CIPA to help others find out how to deal with filters.

Three Takeaways From the SU Football Spring Scrimmage (the juice; Salamone)
Despite the snow currently resting on the roof of the Carrier Dome, it is technically springtime in Syracuse. The Orange hosted its annual spring football scrimmage on Saturday, giving fans a preview of things to come this fall. Just four months into the Dino Babers era for Syracuse football, there was a lot to take during the scrimmage.
Let’s break down some of the bigger takeaways from Saturday’s scrimmage:
This Offense is Fast, Like Crazy Fast
Don’t blink when the officials place the football on the line of scrimmage or you might end up missing the snap. When Babers was named the new head of Syracuse Football, much was made about the up-tempo offensive style that propelled him to success at Bowling Green. Saturday’s scrimmage did not disappoint Orange fans hoping to see how the new coach might apply his philosophy in Syracuse.

SU Football Spring Game Recap (TNIAAM; Gilberg)
The Syracuse Orange football team held its annual spring game Saturday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. No score was kept and the game was played in two halves with a five minute break in-between. There were no kick-offs as the offense would simply start with the ball at its on 20-yard line, 40-yard line or opponent's 20-yard line to simulate a red zone offense.
Here are some of the biggest takeaways from the scrimmage.
Offense Shines
When Dino Babers was first announced as the new head of Syracuse football, the general assumption was that Babers, a coach with a long and extensive offensive background coming from Baylor and Bowling Green, would greatly improve and speed up an Orange offense that appeared dull and lifeless for long stretches of play last season.
While it was only a scrimmage, the results were fully on display as Syracuse scored 13 total touchdowns Saturday. For comparison's sake, Syracuse's offense under ex-head coach Scott Shafer only managed to score a single touchdownin last year's spring game
In addition to the prolific scoring, the offense also finished with 764 total yards and had several long 80-yard scoring drives when starting on their own 20-yard line.
Syracuse Played Fast, Plan to Play Faster
Saturday was the first opportunity for fans and media to get an extended look at Syracuse's revamped uptempo offense. The Orange finished with a total of 155 plays and would quickly get back to the line at the conclusion of each one. Despite the offense finishing with 13 touchdowns and a much more fast and exciting style of play compared to last year, Babers said he was still disappointed with the pace of the offense.
