Welcome to National Candy Day!

You've been told again and again to not eat too much candy. However, today you can give in to your sweet tooth and eat as much as you want. Why? Because it's National Candy Day! Candy, confections which come in the form of bars, morsels, lozenges, and other figures, are usually eaten as a snack or treat and not during mealtime. They are made with sugar, syrup, or other sweet ingredients, and often contain chocolate, fruit, or nuts. Flour, eggs, milk, and natural and artificial flavorings are also commonly used to make candy.

Axe: Bergeron on SU's QB situation and his growing NFL buzz (Q&A) (PS; $; Axe)

We’ll all find out together at 3:30 p.m. Saturday who will be the starting quarterback for the Syracuse University football team against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

I caught up with SU left tackle Matthew Bergeron, the man tasked with protecting that quarterback’s blindside, about the performance of Carlos Del Rio-Wilson in place of Garrett Shrader last week against Notre Dame, an anticipated physical matchup against the Panthers and Bergeron’s growing NFL draft buzz.

Check out that Q&A below:

Axe: How has the team taken the news of Garrett Williams being out for the season?

Bergeron: Garrett is a close friend of mine. I was really sad when I found out. I wish him nothing but the best. I know with his work ethic and passion for the game, he’s going to be more than fine. I’m not worried about Garrett. It’s a bad moment for it to happen, but everyone is supporting him. If something were to happen like that to somebody, he’s the person that is going to overcome it times ten.

Axe: On to another Garrett, the one you block for, what was that adjustment like at halftime against Notre Dame when the switch was made from Shrader to Carlos Del Rio-Wilson.

Bergeron: The biggest difference is probably the cadence because of their tone of voice. But they are both mobile. Carlos came in with a certain energy that we needed. I think he did a good job. For someone to just come in and get your name called at halftime against Notre Dame, one of the best programs in college football, I think he did a good job.

Axe: How do you go about the week in trying to keep Pittsburgh in the dark about who the quarterback will be but also preparing at practice with both quarterbacks?

Bergeron: We’ll find out at the end of the week. I think Garrett (Shrader) was a last-minute decision last week. Everybody knows that Garrett is quarterback number one. So whenever he is feeling ready, he’ll be in there. Hopefully it will be soon enough for it to be against Pitt.

Axe: I’m sure Garrett wants to be out there no matter what, but he’s hurt. How is his spirit and attitude right now?

Bergeron: Garrett is one of the best teammates we have. He’s all about the team and always puts the team first. It gave us a chance to win for Carlos to be in with Garrett hurt. He took it well. He was on the sideline hyping everybody up and cheering for Carlos. I think he took it really well.

Syracuse Week Brings SirVocea Dennis’s Football Journey Nearly Full Circle (pittsburghsportsnow; Ludwig)

SirVocea Dennis was headed to the Air Force Academy. It was his best option.

After a couple of serious injuries stole his senior season at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, New York, he decided to take a year and spend it rebuilding his profile at The Peddie School in New Jersey instead. And he would commit to Air Force.

An official offer from Syracuse never arrived, as the Orange only wanted him as a potential quarterback, but he wasn’t really too broken up about it not receiving an offer from his hometown school — his mother’s favorite team.

Pitt was a school that had long held Dennis’s attention, but it didn’t appear that Pitt was interested. Until he surprisingly flipped his commitment from Air Force to Pitt on Feb. 2, 2019, fulfilling a long-held goal to play ACC football.

Nearly four years later, Dennis is a team captain — leading Pitt in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks as a legitimate NFL prospect — and semifinalist for the Butkus Award.

“It’s big (being a semifinalist) in the sense of this is my fifth year playing linebacker,” Dennis said Wednesday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. “It’s huge. I’m not the biggest linebacker, I’m not the strongest or fastest, but it’s what I bring to the game. And I’m glad someone recognizes that on the national level.”

Syracuse football: things to watch vs Pittsburgh (TNIAAM; Staff)

The Syracuse Orange look to break a two-game losing streak when they travel to face the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams fell apart in the final quarter last weekend and turned close games into blowout losses. How will the Orange respond this week? Here’s what we are watching for:

Christian: Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times...

...let’s not contemplate too hard what that would mean for Syracuse’s defenses. We’re getting the obvious out of the way early - have the Orange learned from the past two weeks? By now the coaching staff should have enough data and footage to know how to stop a run heavy offense. Israel Abanikanda has scored Pitt’s last nine touchdowns. Syracuse’s secondary has proven it is more than capable to stop an average to good passing attack. And given recent trends, you know what Pitt is turning to in order to spark offense.

Kevin: Alternate weapons

One bright spot from the Notre Dame game was that the second half provided opportunities for D’Marcus Adams. The FAU transfer only had two receptions but they went for 43 yards and a touchdown. Adams made a nice catch in traffic and then left his defender reaching on an out and up route for a touchdown. This gives Adams two touchdowns on only three receptions this season and he could be the big-play weapon Syracuse needs to take pressure off of Sean Tucker and Oronde Gadsden II.

Who is the most important player on the Syracuse basketball roster and how does Syracuse football bounce back from a two-game losing streak?

Those were just two questions pondered by Syracuse.com’s Brent Axe on the latest episode of “Orange Weekly” presented by Crouse Health.

Axe also talked about what else he learned from SU basketball’s two exhibition games, who should start at quarterback against Pittsburgh and chatted with Orange fans on their opinions and questions about SU sports on this week’s show.

No. 22 Syracuse eyes first win at Pittsburgh in 21 years (apnews.com; Graves)

Syracuse has spent most of the fall upending expectations. Ripping off six straight victories to start the season will do that.

Losses to Clemson and Notre Dame have slowed momentum a bit, though the 22nd-ranked Orange (6-2, 3-1 ACC) can take another step forward by doing something the program hasn’t done in more than two decades: win in Pittsburgh.

Syracuse gets another chance on Saturday when it faces the defending ACC champion Panthers (4-4, 1-3), who saw any remote chance of claiming a second straight Coastal Division crown evaporate after wilting late against North Carolina last week.

The Orange, surprisingly, still have an outside shot of capturing the Atlantic, though it likely needs to win out and hope Clemson stumbles a couple of times down the stretch. It certainly beats the usual alternative of entering November and not having any shot at all.

“We just have to bounce back,” Syracuse defensive back Ja’Had Carter said. “Those two losses were major, but we’re just in the mindset now that we can’t lose anymore because we want to get to that ultimate goal (winning the division). We’re just focused and putting our head down and got to come out with a victory.”

Something the Orange haven’t done at Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field) since 2001. No wonder Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi shrugged this week when asked about the program’s long rivalry against Syracuse, one that dates to 1916 but has seen the Panthers win 17 of the last 20 meetings.

No. 22 Syracuse football at Pittsburgh best bets for week 10 (itlh; Adler)

No. 22 Syracuse football is seeking to get out of its two-game slump as the Orange heads to long-time rival Pittsburgh this coming Saturday afternoon.
Both Atlantic Coast Conference squads have lost two straight. The ‘Cuse blew a fourth-quarter lead at No. 5 Clemson and fell by six points to the Tigers on October 22. Then, this past Saturday, Notre Dame bulled Syracuse football (6-2, 3-1) on the Hill, with the Fighting Irish winning by 17 points.

The Panthers (4-4, 1-3), meanwhile, were defeated on the road in consecutive ACC contests. First, Louisville knocked off Pittsburgh by 14 points. Most recently, last weekend, the Panthers lost by 18 points to nationally-ranked North Carolina.

Pittsburgh, like Notre Dame, is a physical group that runs the ball quite well. The Panthers are also proficient at stopping the run, which doesn’t bode all that great for a Syracuse football offense that has struggled lately on the ground.

For the entire 2022 stanza, Pittsburgh has victories over West Virginia, Western Michigan, Rhode Island and Virginia Tech. The Panthers, conversely, have fallen to highly rated Tennessee (in overtime), Georgia Tech, Louisville and UNC.

5 Things to Know: Syracuse at Pitt - Syracuse University Athletics (cuse.com)

Syracuse heads to longtime rival Pitt on Saturday looking to snap a two-game losing skid. Here are five things to know about the matchup:

1. RESTORED RIVALRY
Pittsburgh is Syracuse's longest running series and most frequent opponent. The Orange and Panthers have met 77 times previously and have played annually since 1955. The series itself dates back to 1916.

Penn State (69), Colgate (67) and West Virginia (61) are Syracuse's next-most frequently faced foes behind the Panthers.

2. ROAD WARRIORS
While Syracuse has enjoyed a healthy dose of Dome games to start the season (six of the first eight) – 'Cuse will hit the road in three of their final-four matchups to close the season in November.

Syracuse is 1-1 away from home this season. A win on Saturday would be the first at newly named Acrisure Stadium since 2001.

3. GROUND GAME
Saturday's game features the ACC's top-two leading rushers. Pitt's Isreal Abanikanda (1,086) and the Orange's Sean Tucker (758) are first and second respectively in rushing yards. Tucker led the ACC and finished in the top-five nationally in the category.

2022 Week 10 ACC Factoids (RX; HM)

2022 Week 10 ACC Factoids

ACC Notes

The ACC plays arguably the most difficult non-conference schedule in the country every season; any sane person would pretty much agree with that. In recent years, conference teams have lost over 80% of their games against Notre Dame (9-37 since 2014). Yet despite that, the league still can boast the second-most non-conference wins through nine weeks.
The ACC also has the most wins (3) over non-conference opponents currently ranked in the AP Top 25 than any other league. Florida State won at LSU (now ranked 15th), Louisville won at UCF (now ranked 25th) and Wake Forest won vs. Liberty (now ranked 23rd). Perhaps the most eye-catching part of this factoid is that just 3 ranked OOC wins is enough to be in first place...
The ACC has 25 wins against teams with a .500 record-or-better, which ranks second among all Power 5 conferences.
The ACC’s Atlantic Division is the only division with four ranked AP teams. Those four teams are 13-1 against non-conference competition. The top six teams in the Atlantic Division all have a .500-or-better record and are 17-1 against non-conference opponents.
Fourteen of the ACC’s 33 conference games this season have been decided by 6 points or fewer.

Brett Friedlander talks about how ACC Football has played out. – 105.9 WLNI-FM (wlni.com' podcast; Sportsline)

5 things to watch for in UNC football vs Virginia matchup (usatoday.com; Adkins)

The 7-1 North Carolina Tar Heels are in the driver’s seat of the ACC Coastal and have the chance to extend its lead when they take on Virginia this weekend on the road.

Finally, UNC is gaining the respect of the Associated Press Poll’s top 25, moving to No. 17 this week. As the season is winding down, North Carolina will need to add some statement wins to their resume for a significant boost in the rankings, and the Cavaliers are a perfect team for it.

This game shouldn’t be close, with the two teams on different paths this season. Virginia has struggled mightily in the division, mustering up only one win and four losses in the conference. On the other hand, North Carolina has taken care of business, going 4-0 in the conference. UNC is by far the superior team. However, if a trap game were to occur for North Carolina, it would be this one.

The two teams share heated history, dating back to 1892, and with this being coined as the “South’s Oldest Rivalry,” expect the Cavaliers to fight to end despite their lackluster season so far.

Can UNC stay perfect on the road?

One of the most impressive stats to come out of the season for UNC is their 4-0 away record. Last season, UNC couldn’t sniff a win on the road. However, that narrative has officially been debunked with significant wins over Georgia State, Appalachian State, Miami Hurricanes, and Duke Blue Devils.

Three of the four teams had atmospheres that would’ve rattled last year’s teams, but with UNC’s aggressive starts helping quiet the crowd, they have been able to maneuver around the noise.

Virginia is 2-2 at home this season.

ACC football predictions for Week 10: Our experts pick the winner of every game (fayobserver.com; Staff)

The Week 10 slate of ACC football games has a couple of powerhouse matchups in Clemson at Notre Dame and Wake Forest at NC State.

With the Tigers holding the No. 4 spot in the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings and no games against ranked opponents remaining on their schedule, a trip to Notre Dame marks the first step in cementing a path to the national championship.

Wake Forest, which peaked in the top 10 before its baffling loss to Louisville last week, will look to regain focus against an NC State team that's been forced to turn to its QB of the future in freshman MJ Morris since ACC Preseason Player of the Year Devin Leary was lost for the season due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Let's see what our panel of USA TODAY Sports Network experts thinks about Week 10.

Wake Forest vs. NC State - Game Preview - November 5, 2022 - ESPN (ESPN; AP)

No. 20 Wake Forest (6-2, 2-2 ACC) at No. 21 North Carolina State (6-2, 2-2), Saturday, 8 p.m. EDT (ACC Network)

Line: Wake Forest by 4 1/2 , according to .

Series record: N.C. State leads 67-42-6.

WHAT’S AT STAKE?

The instate foes meet with both in the AP Top 25 for the second straight season. Both the Demon Deacons and Wolfpack entered the season aiming to contend in the Atlantic Division race. But both have lost to No. 5 Clemson along with suffering a second league loss to see those chances evaporate. The past two meetings have been decided by 45-42 scores, first with the Wolfpack winning at home in 2020 and then the Demon Deacons winning at home last year in a game that largely decided the division race.

KEY MATCHUP

Wake Forest's offense vs. N.C. State's defense. Before an eight-turnover loss at Louisville, the Demon Deacons had scored at least 31 points in every game while generally avoiding self-inflicted mistakes. Still, they're 13th in Bowl Subdivision scoring with an average of 38.9 points per game. QB Sam Hartman is tied for sixth in the FBS with 22 touchdown passes, and he has a trio of matchup-winning targets in Donavon Greene, Jahmal Banks and A.T. Perry. The Wolfpack's veteran defense allows 308.6 yards (18th in FBS) and 17.4 points (tied for 12th).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Wake Forest: Banks. The wideout is tied for sixth in the FBS with an ACC-best eight TD catches.

N.C. State: QB MJ Morris. The first-year passer took over in the second half and led a comeback from a 21-3 deficit to beat Virginia Tech last week.

FACTS & FIGURES

N.C. State erased deficits of 14 and 18 points to win their last two home games over Florida State and Virginia Tech. ... The Wolfpack's 15 straight home wins are one shy of the program record set from 1972-75 under Lou Holtz. ... The home team has won the past three meetings. ... This is only the third meeting with both teams being ranked. Before last year, it had only happened in 1992. ... The teams have met every year since 1910. ... The Demon Deacons had just five turnovers on the season before losing four fumbles and throwing four interceptions in the Louisville loss. .. Banks, Perry and Greene have combined for 13 touchdown catches.

ACC FOOTBALL Best Bets: Why Mike Norvell Needs to Win BIG vs. Miami; Will UNC Fumble Against UVA? (youtube; podcast)

Why the Seminoles need to run away with this year's FSU/Miami matchup; UNC can't slip against a struggling Virginia team; Will this be Kedon Slovis' breakout game for Pitt? Drizzy Drake of @Locked On Seminoles joins the show for Freestyle Friday.

How do FSU, Miami stack up? feat. Adam Lichtenstein of the Sun-Sentinel (tomahawknation.com; Scribble)

It’s one of the greatest rivalries in athletics.

Florida State Seminoles football (5-3, 3-3 ACC) and the Miami Hurricanes (4-4, 2-2 ACC) are set to etch the next chapter in the storied series between the two schools this Saturday.

Currently, FSU is a 7.5-point favorite over Miami (according to DraftKings), a reflection of the Seminoles’ uptick in performance this year and a disappointing debut season so far for Mario Cristobal.

Last season, the Seminoles snapped a losing streak to the Hurricanes by way of a dramatic 31-28 victory in Tallahassee. This year the two face off inside Hard Rock Stadium for a primetime showdown, scheduled for a 7:30 kickoff and set to be broadcast on ABC.

On this week’s episode of the Line of Scrimmage, where ahead of each game this football season, we’re giving you insight into Florida State’s opponents from those in the know, we spoke with Hurricanes’ beat writer Adam Lichtenstein of the Sun-Sentinel. Adam gives us insight into the tumultuous beginning of the Cristobal era, helps break down the Hurricanes on offense and defense, talks Miami’s quarterback situation and offers a prediction for Saturday’s game.

ACC mailbag: How does the Big 12 TV deal affect ACC? And who should Georgia Tech hire? (theathletic.com; Bitter, Navarro)

Before our ACC writers Andy Bitter, Manny Navarro, Matt Fortuna and Jeff Schultz get to your mailbag questions, we start with updated power rankings after Wake Forest and Syracuse were tripped up last week.

The Athletic’s ACC Power Rankings

1. Clemson: The Tigers, ranked fourth in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, are in good shape to make the playoff as long as they keep winning.

2. North Carolina: Forget Coastal Chaos. The Tar Heels are running away with the division, up at least two games and a tiebreaker on every team chasing them.

3. Wake Forest: The Deacons had five turnovers all year going into last Saturday. They turned it over six times in the third quarter alone against Louisville, part of an eight-turnover day.

4. Syracuse: After two losses in a row, that 6-0 start seems like it was a while ago. With Pitt, FSU and Wake the next three weeks, it doesn’t get easier.

5. NC State: Maybe the Wolfpack found something in freshman quarterback MJ Morris. Or maybe the Virginia Tech defense just isn’t very good.

6. Florida State: The Noles got back on track with a beatdown of Georgia Tech. They are probably licking their chops with struggling Miami up next.

No. 20 Syracuse football at Pittsburgh: See our picks (PS; $; Staff)

The No. 20 Syracuse football team will face Pittsburgh at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (TV: ACC Network).

It’s time for our predictions. The panel includes Brent Axe, sports columnist; Emily Leiker, SU football reporter; and Nate Mink, supervisor/reporter for sports.

BRENT AXE

Syracuse 28, Pittsburgh 24

Will Syracuse cover? Yes

This one was honestly hard to predict. The injuries are piling up in the wrong spots for the Orange, the defense, struggling against the run, faces the best running back in the conference and the quarterback situation is in flux.

Here’s why I give Syracuse the close win. Pitt’s defense is in shambles right now and has struggled in the fourth quarter (outscored 38-0) in the last two games. Syracuse does just enough on offense to squeeze out a win in the Steel City.

EMILY LEIKER

Syracuse 34, Pittsburgh 31 (OT)

Will Syracuse cover? Yes

While there’s a big unknown heading into this game with who will be at quarterback for SU, I don’t think it will really make much of a difference. We saw that Carlos Del Rio-Wilson can handle himself enough if he is the one to get the start, and Pittsburgh is not known for its defense this year. The Panthers’ one big threat is defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.

Pittsburgh also showed last week against UNC’s Drake Maye it isn’t good at containing quarterbacks who know how to scramble. If Garrett Shrader is back and at full health, that will be a big factor, and Del Rio-Wilson knows how to use his feet, too.

What will determine the game is how the Orange defense can handle top ACC running back Israel Abanikanda. This is the third-straight week SU faces a dominant run offense. I think with a couple of down games under its belt now, Syracuse should be able to handle it better. It rotated defensive players throughout the game in an effort to keep them fresh against Notre Dame, and that tactic plus hopefully some better scheming against the run (and less worry about a pass game) should help.

It’s still going to be a close game, likely the closest since SU’s win over Purdue, and I can see this one coming down to a kick in overtime. Syracuse’s offense will need to get it within about 40 yards on the kick for Babers to feel comfortable with sending Andre Szmyt out in an outdoor venue.

NATE MINK

Pittsburgh 31, Syracuse 24

Will Syracuse cover? No

Last year’s Robert Anae-Pat Narduzzi battle turned into a fireworks show by the two quarterbacks, with the Kenny Pickett-Jordan Addison connection proving too much to overcome despite nearly 500 yards by Brennan Armstrong.

This ain’t gonna be that. Far from it. Though quarterback play (e.g. protecting the ball) could decide this one.

Pickett is still slinging it in Pittsburgh (for the Steelers). Addison is enjoying himself in Southern California. The guy who ran back a 98-yard kickoff is still toting the rock, leading the ACC in rushing.

Official ACC Football Predictions for Week Ten - Sports Illustrated Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets News, Analysis and More (SI; Caudell)

The final month of the season is getting underway this weekend and the conference title race has already taken shape in the ACC. It is almost certain that Clemson and North Carolina are going to be facing each other in Charlotte next month, but both teams need to avoid slip-ups on their way.

Clemson is traveling to South Bend for a non-conference game that could be trickier than most think. The Tigers are only a slight favorite and Notre Dame is coming off of a big win over Syracuse. This was a classic game the last time these two teams met in Notre Dame and we could be in for another one on Saturday.

While that is the biggest game in the conference, there is a ranked matchup between NC State and Wake Forest, Miami and Florida State renew their rivalry in primetime, and Duke goes for bowl eligibility.

Syracuse football: players look ahead to showdown in Pittsburgh (TNIAAM; Ostrowski)

It’s all conference games from this point on for the Syracuse Orange. This week, they’ll continue the program’s longest continuous series by facing the Pitt Panthers (a rivalry that allegedly only exists in basketball). Hear from some ‘Cuse players before they try to snap a two-game skid:

Ja’Had Carter

  • Team has to “pick up the slack” without Garrett Williams down the stretch.
  • The next-man-up mentality remains: “Gotta buy into what we do.”
  • Still having Garrett in the locker room is “like adding another coach.” Said his leadership combined with being a “down to Earth, funny guy” is what makes him so special.
  • Talked about the Mob Podcast and how it’s a big deal for him personally to give the fans some insight on what players are like off the field.

Mikel Jones

  • After back-to-back losses: “We still know who we are and what we work towards.”
  • On Williams being out for the season: “There’s really no message... This is his last year. He’s my roommate, that’s my boy. It’s hard to talk about.
  • Since he and Garrett both came back for one more run with SU, the injury gives Mikel “all the motivation” to finish the job on behalf of both of them.
  • Said it’d be a “very big” confidence booster to get a win against Pitt and end up 2-2 in the “gauntlet” portion of the schedule.

Jeremiah Wilson

  • On playing as a true freshman: “It’s been really cool. You know, my whole my whole goal this year was to just help the team win... I’ve been studying hard behind Garrett and Isaiah Johnson and Duce.”
  • “My whole goal is just to be the best DB to ever play.
  • “(In fall training camp,) the 1s really stepped up and really helped us. Instead of just being selfish about focusing on going to the league, they actually took us under their wing.”
  • With Garrett out, he’s not feeling any pressure. “I’m ready to play this Saturday.”

Uiagalelei details what went wrong versus Syracuse (theclemsoninsider.com; Angalet)

In Clemson’s latest win over Syracuse back in Week 8, the Tigers barely squeaked by following a less-than-stellar performance from quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who was eventually benched after three quarters of struggle at the helm.

While Uiagalelei is not proud of the way he played against the Orange, the second-year starter recognizes where he fell short and is committed to making adjustments, whatever those may be.

“I feel like there was a couple of plays where I didn’t make good decisions,” Uiagalelei said. “Two or three plays that I wish I had them back, just decisions that I wish I didn’t make. It could have been a totally different outcome and wish I could have those back.”

After going back and watching film from Syracuse on Sunday, the California native found that his biggest issue against the Orange was his decision making. Poor decision making mixed with a few costly turnovers was a recipe for near disaster for Uiagalelei and the Tigers, who barely came away with the six-point victory just two weeks ago.

“The biggest thing was decision making,” the junior said. “I feel like there’s some decisions that I should have never made and put balls in jeopardy to be able to have them picked. I think that was the biggest thing.”

Lunch from Across the Hall. (Alicia Cuadrado | Contributing Writer)

Satisfying comfort food downtown is just Across the Hall: (Dining Out Review) (PS; Cuadrado)

A simple menu, affordable pricing, comfort food. These qualities work together to formulate a great dining choice for downtown workers on their lunch breaks. They also fit the bill for those looking to remedy a well-earned hangover. I may or may not have fallen into the latter category when I visited Across The Hall Café a couple of Saturdays ago with my friend.

Folks who frequent downtown have been raving about Across the Hall for months. The bright silver trailer next door to Syracuse City Hall is easy to spot among the surrounding brick buildings.

Finding paid parking on the street was not too bad on this particular Saturday afternoon, especially considering I was looking to refuel after a fun night filled with margaritas. The menu was simple enough. Breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Despite the simplicity, making a choice was not so simple in a foggy state.

The cashier behind the counter, Jake, had a friendly spirit and was more than happy to help us. He piped in with “get the Driftwood.” We took his advice. The Driftwood is a breakfast sandwich with housemade shaved roast beef, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, and two eggs on a grilled a everything bagel. It is served with a hashbrown which Jake expertly advised be put in the sandwich before consuming.

This year the ACC has set up TWO "Rivalry Weeks". Of course, the traditional final week of the regular season features the ACC/SEC rivalries, plus NC State at UNC, Syracuse at BC, Pitt at Miami, and UVa at VT.

However, this weeks is a "Mini-Rivalry Week", if you will, featuring FSU at Miami, GT at VT, UNC at UVa, Wake at NC State, and Syracuse at Pitt. I love this idea and I hope they continue to have a week like this every year going forward...
