Forde says Schiano could be the guy

Nooooooooooooooo. This suggestion should be CHOPPED for at least three reasons:

1. We don't have a helicopter pad;
2. We don't call our dumpster fires " A M I L Y"; and
3. The University doesn't have the funds to stage a coronation for his arrival, redecorate his office or re-mold our brand in his image.

My comment is not to support for Schiano because he's garbage and padded his record with the OOC scheduling. But I can't stand disparaging ceilings of 7-9 wins. What on earth is wrong with 9 wins? Syracuse’s ceiling is 7-9 wins. If we could hit 10 and 11 wins once in awhile that’s fantastic, but it's not our ceiling. We should be throwing ticker tape parades if we can consistently hit 9 wins in today’s day and age.

Yeah, that whole thing is dopey. Putting aside how it was achieved, 8 or 9 wins isn't mediocre.

Im sure I will get ripped apart for saying this but I don't think he's a bad candidate, and should be considered. He took the worst program in the history of college football and turned it into a conference contender. That alone speaks to his ability to build a program. He has strong east coast and NJ recruiting ties right in our back yard. Has NFL experience as a head coach which will only help his recruiting pitch. Those are some pretty significant check marks. Hire a decent OC and I don't think he is a bad candidate at all given where our program is at presently. I would be surprised if Coyle is actually considering him, but I certainly would not be angry if he was. I'll will put on my riot gear now and listen... please just no sharp objects, thanks.

he won't hire a decent oc. he doesn't know what one looks like. his idea of offense is blocking punts.

It's the quality of the 9 wins. Like you said 9 wins in a padded ooc schedule. NC State can get to 9 and I wont be impressed. Duke can win 9 games with a padded schedule too. I'd love a 7, 8, or 9 win season with the sched. we play now.
I guess I should rephrase that our ceiling with 8 or 9 wins as our Sched. is now would be GREAT! When you win 8 or 9 against William and Marry, Towson, Howard, and Oppenheim Euphratah that's a little different.

I don't have a problem with the kneel down play when it is only one score difference - if you can cause a turnover then you have a chance to even the score or win. I also think Giants fans had more of an issue with it.

Here is my big issue with Schiano (and goes with other posters who have already said he is a bully):

The fact he was a to NFL scouts when we want kids here who will be looked at by scouts...that would piss me off if hired...though I don't think there is a chance in hell.

This is fun.

Word is the AD's already reached out to Jon Gruden, Jim Grobe, and Bobby Ross.

Mike Stoops and Rick Neuheisel have local ties, but Brady Hoke has the system to win with this roster now.

Ralph Friedgen is the fan favorite, but it's hard to ignore the recruiting success Brian Schottenheimer and Ron Zook have had.
Barf

NO. I don't want a program hightlighted by winning against the dregs of the NCAA and gimmicks.

I still don't understand the outrage on this play. Tampa Bay was within one score and tried to force a turnover.
They weren't trying to get a turnover. They were taking a cheap shot. Look at it this way, there is a reason no other team in the NFL does that.

I dislike Schiano as much as any hot blooded SU fan but I agree. Not a fan of the victory formation in a 1 score game. Guys are allowed to try and block FG's and punts but a QB kneeling is off limits?
yeah, because unlike the plays you mentioned, the game is over.

I crap you not, this is what I got when I clicked the generator:

Greg Schiano is the fan favorite, but it's hard to ignore the recruiting success Mike Price and Ron Zook have had.[

Mike Price had a Great run

This would be just about the only thing that would make me stop being an SU fan
