Framing Joe Paterno

These people are a joke. Forget that the abuse started in 1979, forget about the emails, forget about 1998, forget about 2001.

How does Paterno allow JS to take showers in his football facility with unknown little boys, when coaches have admired they SAW him? How does Paterno allow JS to bring little 10 year old boys to his practices? How does Paterno allow JS to take unknown little boys to bowl games as part of the official travel party that allows for their rape in the TEAM hotel.

Just like some of these asses wanted to focus on 2001, now they want to focus on the 2 emails only.

"This site is NOT a defense of child sexual abuse."
-------------------------
No, it's a defense of persons who looked the other way while someone was raping little boys.

My favorite part is the poll :
"Which Media Entity Has Done the Worst Job Covering the Sandusky Scandal?"
where ESPN is the overwhelming choice... and then the guy links to ESPN articles along with bleacher report articles to back his arguement.

You know, for all we know ...

How do we know JoePa himself wasn't a pedo? Unlikely? Probably. But it would explain much of the almost inexplicable.

I wondered that myself but think probably not.

A friend of mine posted on his FB page about Paterno and Due Process. I made the mistake of getting sucked in and mentioned that with Joe being dead and no charges brought against him or his family why is due process an issue. Big mistake. He's from PA, and people with Paterno statue profile pictures started jumping all over me asking if I read the entire Freeh Report, etc, etc. It got ugly fast. If the family thinks there's cause for a libel case to clear Joe's name, go ahead. Sorry but a family that was not sanctioned or penalized asking the NCAA to investigate to possibly overturn sanctions that the school agreed to is preposterous. Yet it was me who was called an ignorant media influenced sheep. You stay classy Happy Valley.

I haven't posted on this subject because I have trouble thinking rationally when it comes to child abuse. If someone was charged with child abuse, trust me, they NEVER want me to be on their jury. And this may not be particularly deep or insightful, but it's just amazing to me how that whole family's identity is wrapped up in Joe Paterno. Now my dad was never famous (but is 1000 times the man that Joe Paterno ever was) but if he was famous, I feel he would still want me or my brother to establish our own lives and identities and not live off his. If we wanted to be football coaches , that would be fine. But still have our own lives. But it's as if this family has nothing without that damn record or his football accomplishments.. Sure they mentioned the victims in passing in a couple statements, but overall, the Paterno family has mainly been vocal about the damn sanctions and how they affect football and his stupid record. They could have tried to turn this into a positive as best as they could by saying that they love their father/husband, but he made a terrible, terrible mistake. And then established a legitimate foundation to help with child abuse or done SOMETHING to fight child abuse.

I really thought the NCAA did a good job with the sanctions but now I am leaning towards the death penalty would have been the best solution. That place obviously just doesn't get it.

JoePa was a Catholic. Who knows what he thought was "normal?"

It sounds like he's trying to be funny or paint all Catholics with a broad brush because of the sex abuse cases against priests.

This statement is unworthy of anyone on this board . Get your act together tioga I had much respect for you and this I hope is not your true feelings

Early nominee for worst post of the year award. Libel & bigotry in one sentence. Impressive (not)!

I'm going to go on the assumption that it was meant as a joke. Not a great one.

Sorry. I did not intend this to be offensive. It was a response to Toga suggesting that JoePa was either a pedophile himself or had been abused himself. Probably poor taste, but at least partly a logical follow-up. Again, my apologies.
