How many minutes did he really play center? It’s been talked about 100x the amount of time it actually occurred. Bet Joe G played 2 guard much more than Jimmy Boeheim played center. How can you say this?
It’s an opinion like opinions you disagree with.
The opposite take has no more truth than your opinion.
There isn’t a minute last season where Jimmy should have played C over Frank.
We had enough offense last year that the defense of Frank was way more important than playing Jimmy at C.
"Historically, nobody wants to win more than JB."With respect to this statement, maybe it's not that JB isn't "trying to win" next year. Historically, nobody wants to win more than JB. Maybe, JB thinks he can and will win with the core group of returning players (now minus Frank), while also allowing the freshmen time to be "ready" and not have to worry about managing high end portal players who will want playing time.
To be clear, I think this reasoning is flawed. But, I also think it's more reasonable to assume that JB will roll with an iron 5 thinking HE can win with that group as opposed to assuming he is "trying not to win."
Booooooo!!!! I love Frank. He has great potential. But best of luck to him. Still hope he changes his mind and returns.
Joe played 2G about 2 times more than Jimmy played Center. How many minutes did he really play center? It’s been talked about 100x the amount of time it actually occurred. Bet Joe G played 2 guard much more than Jimmy Boeheim played center.
That's the problem.Really wish he would stay. 3 years left to play and a lot of upside. We can’t continue to recruit low 4 and 3 star players and expect to win unless we can get them to stay and develop.
The minutes themselves no, the non center playing while he was a capable center sitting on the bench probably didn’t help the cause. The amount of mins Jimmy played center wasn’t going to be a difference maker in franks time. Jimmy’s not here anymore and Frank is still leaving. He wants more than being a 10-12 min backup.
Joe should play the 2, thrived in the role, Jimmy shouldn’t have played a single minute at center while we had Frank and Jesse. How many minutes did he really play center? Brown 100% can be that guy and I think Brown is going to be sneaky good and have been saying that for awhile. But we’d be foolish to not try and find a better player for that role next year as Brown is only going to be a freshman. The portal is all about upgrading your roster and these coaches need to do that. They have struggled doing that and last year is a prime example. Last years roster was not an upgrade over the year before. They really need to upgrade the roster this year and hate to say it the 5-6 freshman coming in aren’t going to upgrade the roster. We need at least 2 decent players in the portal to make some noise next yearRight on. Am guessing, though, that JB sees M.Brown as that guy - and he wants him getting the minutes/doesn't want a portal guy getting those minutes over him
Jimmy playing a single minute at C was too many. Him playing center over Frank probably cost them the WF game. How many minutes did he really play center? It’s been talked about 100x the amount of time it actually occurred. Bet Joe G played 2 guard much more than Jimmy Boeheim played center.
LOL you beat me to itJoe should play the 2, thrived in the role, Jimmy shouldn’t have played a single minute at center while we had Frank and Jesse.
I think you will be disappointed. And if you aren't, it's because they have no place to go.Lets hope this is the only transfer this year
Thank you, and no offense taken at all. Yes, I think that all D-1 coaches are driven to win and if they are not, they won't last long. If that is the baseline, JB, IMO, is even further along that continuum. And that's a good thing for the most part. His is driven to win. There are lots of examples of this, like his focus to win the game in front of him, often at the expense of playing more players. Even his kids talked - lovingly - about him not even letting them win at Candy Land when they were younger."Historically, nobody wants to win more than JB."
I mean this respectfully - do you think "nobody" wants to win more than JB?
Don't you think nearly all coaches at D-1 level have the same level of desire to win?
Didn’t they try to get Ballard before they offered Frank? If that’s true the staff liked Ballard more than Frank two yrs ago - maybe it’s his shot blocking potential (Franks not a shot blocker). All this being said I really like Frank and wish he stayed and also wish he’d get some time as a 4. Oh well.If Ballard is the backup plan this staff has lost their mind. The kid can’t play. This is the new normal. If you recruit developmental players they will leave once they get to the point they can play. You’re wasting your time.
unfortunately seen this too many times . dudes playing out of position and out their skill set.Jimmy playing a single minute at C was too many. Him playing center over Frank probably cost them the WF game.
There’s more to Frank than just that. Come on man.started 6 games. avg'd 14 minutes last year . avg'd 3 and 3. would hope we could replace that.
well his minutes are inflated due to the jesse edwards injury. we can agree on that ? theThere’s more to Frank than just that. Come on man.
He was our best rebounder by far, that’s a pretty big asset, his defense was good and he’s had 2 years in our defensive system. That’s important when it comes to program.well his minutes are inflated due to the jesse edwards injury. we can agree on that ? the
other numbers speak for themselves.
