Fran's post bowl game team meeting ..

It wasn't Marlowe who got flagged for the block, why does everyone keep saying this?
Who was it? Matt Park and Adam Terry said it was him, but they said it was a questionable call. They felt the referees were treating Brown like a QB and not a defender. Matt and Adam said it wasn’t that bad but whomever did it had no reason. Clark had no one that could catch him.

Last night was pathetic but let’s be honest we managed to win 2 games bringing knives to gun fights.

Nunzio being a coward and not letting Davis sling it is a problem especially if he’s new QB coach so it’s a serious concern. Unless Davis is that bad and worse than CDRW in which case peace out get the scholarship back.

I like the fact that Brown is letting the players know even the little things matter if they want to play football at SU.

Syracuse.com - Things like coming to breakfast, keeping team spaces clean, removing hats indoors and making eye contact while speaking with someone have all been emphasized. “I think you can just see that he’s really serious about the little things,” Caleb Okechukwu said. “Things that we may have been able to get away with in the past is not really gonna fly now.”
I vaguely remember there was a quote from Art Monk, maybe around the time he was elected into the HOF where he said behavior such as this was what separated him and other SU grads from the rest of the NFL players around him and that helped lead to his HOF career. Look at Coughlin's "on time is already late" policies as further example that this is who we were and what helped make us successful.

Transfer and recruits don’t give a rats behind about what happened last night. Shoot I would be quietly excited because I know I have the chance to make an immediate impact.
Agree, my friend said hope we don’t lose recruits over this and I said, I disagree completely it should be the opposite!

Yeah the game was “meaningless” (so I’m told). Yeah we had a few crazy weeks with everything going on inside the program. Yeah we were missing key players. Yeah we were missing key coaches.

That will go down in the books as a 45-0 L. Last night was pathetic, period. I’m perfectly calm about it, but it was pathetic. There won’t be an asterisk on it just because of the circumstances, that is reality.

I remember Doug Marrone had a rule that all waste paper baskets had to be empty in all football offices and facilities when there were visitors, i.e. recruits and their parents or other VIPs.

Wow, that bolded and underlined part says a lot about the way Babers ran things.

It was supposedly Simmons.

It was Simmons. Marlowe was the one who got in the ref’s face and had to be warned to back off.

that makes sense why Matt and Adam thought it was Marlowe. FWIW, I don't know much about playing the secondary but I have a good friend who was a DB at Cornell and is a Cuse fan and he says Simmons stinks.

Meaningless until one realizes that the entire roster has to be replaced. That isn’t easy, just ask coach prime…

Next year not going to be as smooth as some make it. I’m 100% fine with that. But there is a little too much hopium. Few players are not fixing this, and by “few players” I realize the talent that is being brought in. It’s insanely good.

Don’t get me wrong over time Fran will 100% fix it, he is that guy, and bring us back, but not soon IMO. I’d like it to be next year but there is just way too much that needs fixed, installing a culture takes time.

I got the answer, it was Simmons. Marlowe was arguing the call with the ref, that's probably why Matt and Adam thought it was Marlowe. I listen to the radio call and queue it up with the DVR, I don’t like the ESPN or ACC Network announcers unless it is McDonough or Bilas calling one of our games in FB or BB. I did listen to Bill Walton doing our Hawaii games. That was a hoot.

How about sticking to what game plan made us competitive in the last 4 games, not having confidence your young QB would be able to slide in pocket or protected, obvious. How about a little bit of trauma for a young QB that they believe in. Need to address reps, OL!!!!!, no cowards. Do you put on pads?

Yep mock Marrone if you will, but he did that stuff when the program needed it. While this case isn’t as extreme it is much needed too and I am here for it, the culture on the team sucks
The thing about that is we were heavily penalized under Doug too. I could never understand it, Doug was a discplinarian but it did not help with the penalties, we were bad too with Doug.

It was Simmons, and he didn't need to do it. I was never a fan, would have much rather seen some other player get the reps. That is the type of stuff I don't think Fran is going to put up with.

I know that was odd, the discipline he instilled was really how hard they played in games and practice and their workout routines, definitely didn’t extend to penalties. Though even Doug’s teams probably didn’t have anyone as stupid as Simmons

The entire roster isn't being replaced. This isn't Colorado.

I am glad Simmons eligibility is up, we don’t need the kind of boneheaded crap like his roughing penalty that took a defensive TD off the board

It should be. Few guys that you can count on one maybe two hands including obviously some injured players.

There is room on a two deep because depth is obviously important. But outside the key guys which we all know it is bleak in terms of talent, thankfully that is changing by the day with the new regime.

Our Wildcat game plan is simple. It worked reasonably well against 4 ACC teams. You mean to tell me that USF, a 6-6 AAC team is much smarter and better prepared to stop it than the 4 ACC teams? I guess it comes down to effort. Which is shocking because these guys were playing for roster spots either at Cuse or in the portal. That is what shocked me.
I thought the wildcat was only effective against the 1st team we used it against, but maybe my memory is faulty. It seems our other QB was halfway decent & if given the reigns early & developed fully, maybe the outcome improves. Who knows?

If Fran never has to settle for 2 stars, I think we will be OK. We'll see.
