Pitt students win "loyalty point" for attending events? (Mentioned in the "girl scout" article under the Women heading). Is that like frequent flyer points? I wonder what they get with their points.

I found this. "Pitt students are notorious for their avid support at sporting events, particularly for forming a riotous cheering section known as the Oakland Zoo at basketball games. Students who attend the most home sporting events get priority purchasing when game tickets are in high demand through the school’s Loyalty Points system." Sounds like a very good idea. They include this info on their University profiles submitted to USA News etc for ratings and rankings which also sounds like a good idea which students/parents see when looking at info when applying to colleges.

Syracuse does something similar or at least did a few years ago. In 2009-10, my son, in his freshman year, was one of the top 100 students for attending SU sports. They keep track because you scan your id to get into all games, not just bball, football and lax but also other sports like soccer, men and woman, field hockey etc. and you get points for attending. He received a poster showing the crowd at the Villanova 34,616 game, signed by JB. My understanding is that if you were top 25 you received something even better.
