FSU opens -4.5….

Yep never like playing down there even in years like this one. I am old enough to remember playing down there in the 90s with Quadry Ishmael and a bunch of other talented guys on a very good team, and still getting smoked like 40-14.

I don’t have high hopes for this weekend, but then again maybe this team is different as I completely did not expect a goal line stand and subsequent strip and victory this past weekend. I hope to find myself surprised again.
That was '91. I think it was a couple weeks after we beat Florida in the dome. That FSU team was loaded. Amp Lee and Edgar Bennett killed us after we jumped out to that early lead and then FSU settled in.

The D has to account for GS as a runner, with TD they don't. Go with GS and hope he doesn't get hurt
TD has actually done well on designed runs that are blocked well. Where GS poses the bigger problem for the D is when they think they have the play stopped and GS still manages 3 yards where it would've been a loss with TD. 2nd and 7 or 3rd and 4 feel so much more manageable than 2nd and 12 or 3rd and 8 regardless of which one is in the game.

it was 2019, Cuse got some garbage time TDs to make it respectable but it was a blowout, over by halftime
Yeah that game wasn’t close at all. I think by the 4th quarter I was one of the last dozen Cuse fans there

I was there to the bitter end too. Sat right in front of SUTomcat. Not going this year though, will be in Minnesota on vacation (peak foliage there, 1st week in October)

That was probably the most depressing Cuse game I’ve ever watched due to being in person. My family is part FSU fans and they left at halftime so I was all alone. Plus I got put on TV and some co workers saw it and roasted me for weeks lol

Every team is different; until I see this group get its doors blown off, I won't believe it's possible.
With Shrader at the helm, this is a muck it up team. Keep it close, and execute at the end.

We better hope GS doesn’t get a concussion like Dungey did, that one play GS ran toward the sideline and got layed out had me worried. Dungey was 6’3 and I believe weighed more than GS now.

I think the beard helps absorb some of the blow.

I didn’t think it was possible, but I’d say he plays more reckless than Dungey did. It’s like he’s looking to get blown up when he’s in the open field.

He looks bigger than Eric. Maybe just the height. Or the beard. He took that big hit and popped right up. Wasn’t fazed at all.

My mind goes too fast sometimes... I saw it as depressing because you were in prison...

You are forgetting all of the times Dungey went up into the air for flips over the players. He was seriously crazy sometimes.

Schrader DID appear to smile when he got up after the hit that knocked his helmet off at the sideline!
He definitely smirked.

That makes perfect sense.

I'm hoping that at 0-4, they are close to "quitting" on the season. I think they'll come out fired up, but quickly fall apart IF we're able to punch them in the mouth and not make the game easy.

If we screw up and get behind early, they'll be like sharks that smell blood in the water. But if we can make it a tough game, I think they'll fold. Hope we can score enough points.

FSU is 0-4 but outside of JSU - they’ve played a pretty stout schedule.

They took ND to OT, played Louisville tough. I don’t see a team that’s quitting, I see a team that outside of the WF game, has fought hard and come out on the wrong side of it a couple of times.

This game, although looking much more winnable than a month ago, will be a tough task. Gotta come out swinging and set the tone.

0-5 would be a complete non chance of a bowl game. 1-4 they are breathing life into the season with getting back to a bowl. I think we'll get their absolute best but their absolute best may be not that intimidating to Syracuse this year.

Really really hope we keep this in the 20-17 range.

I think your last sentence is crucial. I think they can score, maybe a bit better than us. If our D can keep the pressure on and keep that score low, our chances go up exponentially.

Looks like indications were -6 but the first bets brought it to -4.5. Wow. Thought it would be -1.5
College Football News ranks FSU at 108, down from 107 last week. SU is ranked at 70, up from 76 last week. Based on those numbers, you might think the spread would be closer, or even in SU's favor.
