FSU vs The ACC

What I'd prefer for a merit-based revenue plan is this: a bonus for every FBS non-conference win (no bonus for FCS), but also a penalty for each FBS loss (to prevent schools from overscheduling and killing the ACC's reputation). That would lead to a more impressive non-conference win%, which in turn would lead to more ranked ACC teams and better TV ratings.
Mostly like this idea but it seems like it would lead to ACC teams scheduling many low level FBS teams which would have numerous drawbacks.

Yeah, I really shed some tears this weekend with FSU getting spanked again, Bama getting knocked off by an unranked Vandy, and Tennessee losing to an unranked team. Bawhahahahahaha.

When a top ACC team gets beat by a lower level team it's because the ACC is awful, when it happens in the SEC and B1G it's just evidence of how great the conference is. Such nonsense.

How is Missouri still a ranked team? They barely win 2 games against average teams, and then get blown out.
They shouldn't even be in the top 80 with the way they have played.

It's part of the aura of SEC play. They were Top Ten...until TAMU beat them senseless. But, they were beaten by an SEC team so "everyone" knows they can't be "that" bad. [Sarcasm running strong]

Or, you can have some of what the voters are having. Either way, the obligation is to over rank the SEC, then the B1G, and then push everyone else down to make the SEC and B1G look good.

That is exactly what the way the media reports it.

Yeah, isn't that funny how that works. Anything SEC related is superior and should not be challenged.

That is why I keep saying every ACC team should have an SEC team they play every year. Ours should be Auburn. Beat them enough times and the perception will go away, and it would be good for both ESPN products, and hurt the Big perception wise.

David McKenzie weighs in on the implications of the Marks article in The Athletic yesterday on the ACC look in for 2025.

There is another hearing on the case today. FSU has wasted over $3 million so far and all they have to show for it is a dunce cap from the college athletics world.

How sad.

Dumb and Dumber.

They were never a nationally loved program, but I love the hate they get. They've earned every bit of it.
Here is one thing, among many, that FSU fans refuse to see: the 'love' for the program by those who are not FSU alums, families of students, residents of FSU-strong parts of FL, etc. grew because FSU was seen as the underdog going against Old Time BIG and super rich programs: SEC, BT, ND, OU, Nebraska, etc. Those fans of FSU were cheering for an underdog to beat the Old Money bullies.

What happens when that underdog demands to become one of the Old Money bullies nd does so by wanting to bully his conference? Well, he cannot remain a good guy in the eyes of those fans who saw him as the underdog fighting the Old Money bullies.

The FSU simpleton assumes he can have it all. He can be both the underdog fighting the Old Money bullies while also being the bully who shoved aside his league, publicly hoping it dies. And that is impossible.

The SEC is far too greedy to do that. That is why Sankey isn putting hard pressure on the BT to have a scheduling deal between them. More money for SEC than playing a whole bunch more ACC teams. Plus, the SEC assume sit would beta a huge percentage of BT teams, while the BT supply assumes that it is already football equal to the SEC.

Once you get that preseason ranking it doesn’t matter that you only played tomato cans OOC

Right on.

In 1981, FSU's Bobby Bowden scheduled 5 consecutive road games against Nebraska, tOSU, ND, national champion Pitt and LSU. FSU finished 6-5 and earned immense respect as an underdog program willing to take on football's elite anywhere, any time.

That was awesome. Current FSU, not so much.
