I get moving out of large football stadiums, but Hartford? Not exactly a prime Memorial Day Weekend destination spot (no offense, Hartford).

Maybe this signals scaling things back a bit by the NCAA and trying to encourage schools to bid for on-campus venues? (Yeah, I do know Fairfield isn't in Hartford.)

Is Hartford some sort of deal with Bristol, Connecticut? Is there value in being close to the Mother Ship?

That's my guess.

I'm not going to hold it against the NCAA for trying out a new market. There's not an easy solution to the attendance problem. Hartford is still driveable for most fan bases. Half filling an NFL stadium is bad look. If it doesn't work, they won't go back. I prefer The Rent over moving it Denver, Dallas, Georgia, or California for a year. What other better options did the NCAA even have for mid-sized stadiums? Red Bull Stadium seems like a decent fit. Anywhere else?
