What about Daniel Freitag the PG from Buffalo? He definitely can score which we kinda need
Sounds goodWhat about Daniel Freitag the PG from Buffalo? He definitely can score which we kinda need
I could be very wrong, but I think Gerry/the staff might prefer a PG who is more of distributor/get in the lane and dish type over a ball dominant scoring PG.What about Daniel Freitag the PG from Buffalo? He definitely can score which we kinda need

PGs that can do both AND not turn the ball over (the problem with Wilkins) are in short supply.I agree even if I’m torn on that because I prefer a scoring PG that can also facilitate. I can live with us not finding a different PG so long as we get this done right at the 5 and then backup 4.
Colby Garland from San Jose State is probably the best PG who fits this criteria, that's still available. Probably why they were linked to him previously. 37% from 3, 2-1 A/T ratio, terrific FT shooter. Only 6 feet tall.PGs that can do both AND not turn the ball over (the problem with Wilkins) are in short supply.
You can’t teach athleticism and skill. You can coach a kid to stop turning over the ball as much. There are a number of factors that could have led to this high TO number, including the talent around him and what the coaches were asking him to do.Don’t get the fanfare with this kid at all. Efficiency is not there. Turnovers are. Either is the defense. Dual is much better at setting people up, defending, and protecting the ball. Sometimes the less s e x y player is the way to go.

I don’t know about that. If you’re turnover prone you’re turnover prone. We saw that with George. You can’t teach athleticism and skill. You can coach a kid to stop turning over the ball as much. Can I honestly ask why you "trust GMac here"? I can't imagine GMac is happy having only Dual and Moesch. He has to be trying to get a higher level PG, right?I don’t know about that. If you’re turnover prone you’re turnover prone. We saw that with George.
If you’re athletic it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be efficient or good at defense. We saw that with JJ.
I trust Gmac here. I’d be very concerned with Wilkins running the point. He had 16 games with at least 4 turnovers in one of the worst conferences in the country including one with 11. I think Dual can be somewhat if a poor man’s Kadary.
We need production over potential. Guys who contribute to winning. The advanced metrics on the guys we have signed are great. That’s not the case with this guy.
I think Dual is severely underrated here. His metrics are great. Better than Wilkins. Played much better competition over the course of the year too.Can I honestly ask why you "trust GMac here"? Maybe, but do you think GMac is done at PG?I think Dual is severely underrated here. His metrics are great. Better than Wilkins. Played much better competition over the course of the year too.

Probably/Maybe? They’ve mentioned Tobiason at the one to 3. I want a center and one more elite player, but not sure where that’s coming from. I think Dual starts at the point.No. Even if he loves Dual and Moesch its too much of a gamble to rely on both being healthy and performing better than they ever have against the best competition they have ever faced. Still need another lead guard.
Maybe, but do you think GMac is done at PG?
But George also had terrible coaching.True… yet then George had more offensive weapons around him and his TOs worse
Disagree. Look at MCW, Scoop and lots of other examples. Coaches reigned in their turnovers as the players got older and more experience.I don’t know about that. If you’re turnover prone you’re turnover prone. We saw that with George.

As for you saying you trust Gmac, sure, I get that. But I think this has little to do with us not wanting Wilkins and more to do with the fact that we don’t have the money to compete for him or the player isn’t ready to sign with an unproven P5 coach.
Dual is nowhere near as good as Kadary. But he is a very good defender.
If you don’t like the Kadary comparison then compare him to Copeland. Higher offensive rating at McNeese with half the amount of turnovers in 40mpg.Disagree. Look at MCW, Scoop and lots of other examples. Coaches reigned in their turnovers as the players got older and more experience.
