Emily Leiker:
Syracuse Week 10 depth chart vs. Boston College. Only notable difference I’m seeing is Jeremiah Wilson has been removed. Quan Peterson now behind Isaiah Johnson; Jayden Bellamy and Greg Delaine at the other CB spot.

Jerry has pretty much not played since the 2nd half of the Clemson game and still is tied for the team lead in interceptions and pass breakups.

He is also targeted non stop by opposing offenses. That tells you a lot. Not really many stats that tell you how bad a CB is doing. He can make a play here or there but he can also get beat bad quite a bit.

I disagree. I thought he was fine this season until he bit on an out and up. If you think he's been bad what do you think of the other corners?

Switching Jerry is just .. wow

While PFF grades are not perfect they are the best data available to the average fan.

Wilson has been playing fewer snaps each week since his poor performance against Clemson.

Bellamy has played well and in return he has played more snaps. Isn't that the way it should be?

Johnson RSSr52578.183.883.675.6

Although Isaiah Johnson did not play his best game at VaTech, his grades for the season are very strong.

Yes, absolutely. But is the best answer to switch him to safety??

He’s quite literally not built for that position. Its beyond puzzling to me.

Enough of the undersized safeties

Yes that is the way it should be. It's too bad that doesn't apply to the entire team.

Are you sure it doesn't?

These are PFF grades. Position coaches use their own grading systems.

Not for one second do I think our coaches are running a player out there who they believe isn't the best man for the job.

Coaches see practices, practice film, game film, meeting room time and several position coaches give written tests on the gameplan each week. Based on all of that I have to believe position coaches who often make a couple hundred grand a year are putting players on the field whom they believe will give us the best chance to win each week. no coach is going to risk his job by playing a player if they question the player's ability to get the job done.

I hear you. I wonder how the position change came to be.

Wilson does fairly well in coverage, but his tackling reminds me of Dieon Sanders.

I'd like to see Wilson resurface as sub for J. Simmons in passing situations; second and long or third and long vs 3, 4 or 5 receiver sets. Use Wilson as a slot corner.

I'd like to see how Clark, Barron and Farmer perform together. With this player group I'd have Clark as the FS (Field Safety) and Farmer in the boundary.
