I would say Maryland plays in a better conference, and (I believe) has better facilities than Georgetown. Plus aside from a week in March Maryland was the better team and usually is year to year.

Plus Mark Turgeon is just so dreamy.

It would be worse if Qudus went to Syracuse. But this is the second worse place the best player on the Hoyas could transfer to. But brutal to Pat, the rest of the coaches and the Georgetown fanbase.

Georgetown doesn’t want to play Maryland.
They believed Maryland owed them a home game.
Georgetown got them to play at Verizon in the Big East-Big Ten Gavitt games.

Georgetown didn’t like Maryland using their arena for that Feinstein BB&T Classic all those years.

Thompson didn’t like how Maryland negative recruited against Georgetown.

Georgetown doesn’t have a large fanbase so Maryland is the big dog in that region power wise even though in the 80’s Georgetown was the power.

Georgetown after JT2 has become less and less powerful because the fanbase for the small Catholic school is small.

Maryland owns the DC media market.

While it can’t be proven Maryland tampered here. It is obvious to anyone who uses their head what happened.
