Georgia Tech Postgame

so they announced 13,000 plus, that's paid tix, so almost 10,000 people who bought tix didn't show up, resell or give them away. 10,000 no shows sends a real message, bad weather or not. Historically, people would make it to the Dome no matter the weather.
Going to nitpick. Announced crowd 13,395 - 4,775 = 8,620. I know it sounds more dramatic to say 10,000, but I think the actual number is too far away to round up that much.

I think bad weather was a legit reason for this game, but probably lost a decent number of people that were on the fence that would typically go in the past and deal with the weather given the team’s performance this season.

wish we could trade frontcourts with GT...they rendered jyare, eddie and co toothless for most of the game

TBF I think Jyare and Eddie are just toothless regardless of who we are playing.

eh theyve been weak lately but theyve both alos had much better games this year than they did vs GT

i think nongo and mutombo would be huge assets to this years syracuse team

this year reminds me how important rim protection is on defense

the turnover problem has a lot to do with no one moving off the ball on offense

4 guys standing watching the guy with the ball creates zero passing options for whomever has the ball

need to cut, move etc...and really really need to stop turning the ball over like its their job

this is a fixable problem (that can have a big impact)

the other issue i see that is easily addressable is shot selection...no more heat check crap shots
Lampkin is a big problem and he was careless with the ball before he came here. JJ continues to have more turnovers than assists for his career.

The problem is that his shooting has been atrocious over the last 4 games:
FG -- 8-32 (25%)
3pt -- 3-19 (16%)
He should focus on driving, drawing fouls and making his foul shots.
He should not be one of the many throwing up 3 point bricks,

I am not going to pay any attention to criticism of Red's O (whatever that is), until the players cut down on the TO's. It is not just the large number of TOs, but lots of them are shockingly bad. A bunch of them are due to bumble-itis, but most are due to very bad decision making when passing the ball. And they are generally not forced by the defense. Mistakes that makes you think the players are just not that good. I've been watching SU BB for many years, and this is easily the worst passing team that I can remember. Another aspect of this is that so many of our prime players are making these TOs game after game.

On another note, I saw GT players push our guys in the back with two hands on three occasions and no foul called. Otherwise, I didn't have an issue with the refs.

What about the Jeff Nixon special inbounds play in 2nd half. All players lined up like a spread formation.
Definitely the most ingenuity I’ve seen from Red all season.
I’ve seen that before, but I like it. I think they should send a guy in motion OB to take a handoff, then he throws a bomb, especially because pick plays are legal.
