You're being generous.
You're being generous.
Could be. It comes across to me as genuine, quiet confidence, even though we all know how intense he is.I think he's really worked hard to be able to present himself in a positive manner.
Why aim high when we can settleI believe people are down on him only because he is a Syr guy. They feel they got burned in house with Red so they want outside. I think we roll the dice on a kid who had turned a 4 win team into a 24 win team. 14-18 first year and whatever it ends up this year 24 wins plus. Good ball movement and tough defense. I’m good with that.
You don’t roll the dice when it comes to a multi million enterprise like this.I believe people are down on him only because he is a Syr guy. The timing is perfect. The job is open and he is a Billy Donovan clone. I hope this dumbass Boeheim tree narrative isn't considered in the selection process. Having said that, if it's Hodgins or any other....I support to the end.Could be. It comes across to me as genuine, quiet confidence, even though we all know how intense he is.
I have little doubt that he will have a long, very successful career as a HC. The timing just isn't right for him at SU.
Sorry, Gerry is a Billy Donovan clone? Can you explain? The timing is perfect. The job is open and he is a Billy Donovan clone. I hope this dumbass Boeheim tree narrative isn't considered in the selection process. Having said that, if it's Hodgins or any other...I support to the end.

Same kind of player, both tremendous basketball minds, both great motivators, same posture.Sorry, Gerry is a Billy Donovan clone? Can you explain?
Interesting. Like Gerry, Donovan served as HC at Marshall for 2 years, then accepted the job at Florida. Actually does have a potentially similar career path.Same kind of player, both tremendous basketball minds, both great motivators, same posture.
Hope that helps you.
The big difference is before Donovan they had gone to a Final Four, a tournament, and then had a losing season that got their coach fired. We've had 5 years in the wilderness (3 of which Gerry was partially responsible).Interesting. Like Gerry, Donovan served as HC at Marshall for 2 years, then accepted the job at Florida. Different world. Losing teams have turned it around in 1 year with total roster overhaul. The big difference is before Donovan they had gone to a Final Four, a tournament, and then had a losing season that got their coach fired. When Donovan took over, he had two under .500 seasons before getting Florida to the tournament.
If Gerry came in and had two straight losing seasons with the way this program is currently, he'd be fired.
Settling is going for Hop. Who didn’t improve his team while Gmac obviously did. If u r talking bennett or Jay Wright or even pearl im with ya. Hodg has a year more head coaching so what’s the difference. Tell me it wouldn’t be EPIC for Gmac to turn us around into top ten school every year if he could. Dome would be nut so.Why aim high when we can settle
There were plenty of horrendous bad yearsHe also wasn't taking program over that had 10 bad years.
We had plenty of horrendous years not long before JB.He also wasn't taking program over that had 10 bad years.
Did we? Many of us aren’t old enough to remember, or care about, the time before JB when you had to listen to the games on the old radio. There were plenty of horrendous bad years
