Winning aside, why in the world would anybody want to work on Hurley’s staff? Don’t say money because the UCON athletic department is under water.

I’ve seen it first hand…and he is not nearly what you see on an in game basis. He treats his coaches very well, gives them tons of leeway and allows them to coach with little to no yelling. All he demands is high attention to detail and high energy. He’s also the “bad guy” so his coaching staff are good guys.

Literally could not ask for 2 better hires to start. Give me Lee from Siena and that’s a hugeeeee upgrade over last years staff. Not only can all 3 coach and are respected coaches. All 3 are rushing, young respected coaches. Daly and Brunt respectively are big time hires. Daly is a reallllly good offensive mind and Brunt is a reallyyyyyyy good defensive mind. Big losses for PSU and VCU. Huge gains for Cuse. Oh and both can recruit pretty damn good. Guess that doesn’t hurt either

Penn state has never valued hoops. As someone whose been there more times than I want to admit and have many friends who are alums including one who is an AD at a satellite school, the lack of interest they have in hoops is telling. You will hear more about their wrestling program than hoops if you visit. Thus any success you have there is impressive including the previous two years he had there.

Sure - but it looks like they weren’t even in the top 300 defensively amongst d1 teams. That trends more towards malpractice than negligence
