Gerry Staff Predictions…

As much as we want to give GMAC kudos for bringing these guys in as Assistants, let’s not forget the money Syracuse is putting into it. I’m sure these two guys aren’t coming cheap simply because they are recognized as young up and coming coaches who in two or three years will probably head off to be head coaches at their own programs. I’m sure Gerry sold them on a vision and how they can advance their careers with his help. Syracuse ponied up the money for Fran to bring in higher paid Assistants, and I’m sure they’ll do the same for Gerry, regardless of how the staff closes out.
It’s about damn time, though. Don’t you think? We have been behind the eight-ball for awhile. I’m not sure how much Red was pushing behind the scenes, but the university leadership has been as slow footed as can be adjusting to new realities. So it’s hard for me to applaud them (other than Blair).

Gmac no doubt made increased staffing support and money for those postions a key part of his contract negotiations (I assume Schertz did too when BB was negotiating with him).

HC: McNamara
Assistant: Brunt
Assistant: Daly
Assistant: Lee (?)
*Assistant: Blackwell (?)
Operations: Corasaniti
*Special Assistant to Head Coach:
GM: OPEN
*Player Development 1: Onuaku (?)
*Player Development 2: OPEN

* Denotes new positions potentially. Can't confirm the player development positions will be added, but every other big-time program has them. And many higher mid-major type programs do too. Also added the 4th assistant based on a prior post.

The fact that this program has been operating with the staffing it has is negligence.
John Daly. Sweet

I love that we are finally catching up with hiring a full staff, NIL, coach who seems to get it, etc that good teams have been doing for a few years now.

Reminds of iPhone people getting all excited over “new” features that Android has had for years 😂

Still not understanding the infatuation with Kline. His post-termination OpEd should reinforce he’s not the right guy for the job and lacks professional maturity.
Kline is clearly good at evaluating talent. His closing words made him look like a giant cry baby though.

Have to pick a lane here. Either we had a talented roster that the GM built and would have been a tournament team with better coaching, or we had a poorly built roster that mediocre coaching couldn’t overcome.

I like Kyle and Kingz. Maybe Betsey as well. He clearly missed on other guys he identified. I also think the roster didn’t fit well together. I give him a grade of C-.

I don’t want him back in any capacity at Syracuse.

Bert than what red has brought in. Kingz Kyle and Betsey were solid. So was Bryce off the bench. Wasn’t a talent problem…

Definitely the first.
