It seemed most of the board was very happy landing George.I think it was a halfway decent roster with bad coaching. Kline did alright overall but he missed majorly with George and guard was the biggest hole on the roster
They sure were. I wasn'tIt seemed most of the board was very happy landing George.
Oh, he was a terrible coach. Full stop. The answer is somewhere in the middle. We had talent but not a lot of two way talent. Mostly because nobody could play D. And no just because Kyle blocked a lot of shots does not mean he was a great defender.
Red wasn’t a terrible coach, he just wasn’t very good at it. His rotations were questionable at best, he couldn’t figure out how to beat a zone D (inexplicably).
Mix those two and you see a poor shooting team, outside of Kingz once he got going. Questionable work ethic from players who often just looked lost and confused.
Worst coach in college hoops imo. Autry almost destroyed our golden goose. Both relevancy and resultsOh, he was a terrible coach. Full stop.
Agreed. Still surprised at this point we are not seeing additional tweets on staff besides Daly/Brunt. Typically this information is not so locked up.really curious about GM, sounds like the person is in place and already working behind the scenes, would love to know who it is
Is that your opinion or do we know that? I'm not being argumentative, I'm honestly asking. If he could have and didn't, that's just plain stupid.

Excuse me, but you do not have the experience to be commenting on this subject. HaHaSimply not going to cut it he shouldn’t be bring any of them at most 1 or 2.

Someone has to do all the behind the scenes research on all the potential portal players, watching their film, interviews to try to determine character, desire and mutual interest.Gm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports. A HC should be able to handle along w 5 assts. one of the assistants can be more of an admin variety.
The era of big govt college hoops should end if we’re spending 500k for a “GM”. Spend it on a player vs a bean counter (there’s no trading, salary cap, etc).
And that attitude makes school fall behind.Gm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports. A HC should be able to handle along w 5 assts. one of the assistants can be more of an admin variety.

I would think it’s about negotiations, agent relationships, budgeting, fundraising, portal monitoring, rostering, eligibility, etc. You really want the coaches handling that?Gm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports. No, it’s impossible. If you don’t have a GM you’re behind.I would think it’s about negotiations, agent relationships, budgeting, fundraising, portal monitoring, rostering, eligibility, etc. You really want the coaches handling that?
You're right. The whole thing is dumb, unsustainable, etc... but that's the way the game is played now. Until the rules change, we need to do whatever's needed to be competitive.Gm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports. The coaches need to put their focus into actually coaching during the season and not worrying about prepping themselves for upcoming portal season as well as probably having conversations with donorsGm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports. Wonder what budget that would have effected if he did,He could have hired more assistants, he chose not to
The GM job is essential nowadays because of the portal and the high turnover rate each year. Some teams have been turning over their entire roster. A head coach and a few assistants can’t possibly oversee that type of change over the course of a few weeks. A team needs to be prepared when the portal opens, and that requires scouting and research during the season. Coaches don’t have time for that. Gerry and his staff had to do it themselves at Siena because they didn’t have a GM, but I bet he’s glad he has one at Syracuse.Gm job to me is the dumbest job in college sports.
