Gerry Staff Predictions…

dumb and dumber GIF

Definitely. Add AO as a family hire and it’s a great group. He was one of the smartest players we have ever had and played extremely smart.

So - what exactly do we know about AO as a coach?

And why is he “the one” we want as a “family” hire?

As has been proven hundreds of times across college & pro sports -
The best performing athletes rarely make the best coaches.

Otherwise - why weren’t guys like Jordan and Gretzky GOATs when In coaching/ownership positions?

And FWIW - I think Rick Jackson was actually a more skilled Big than AO was.

The bigs on Siena played fundamentally sound. Announcers during the Duke game commented how well coached and fundamentally sound.

He is a good bigs coach. We need that.

In the very limited games I saw, the Siena big men played smart, like AO did. He's not a typical athlete-becomes-coach, in my opinion. He was a big guy who wasn't that tall and couldn't really jump, yet he played much bigger and smarter than his natural skills would have suggested he would.

“A big guy who wasn’t tall”…6’9 isn’t tall enough in college?
“Yet he played much bigger”…So he was 6’9 260 in college but he played like what 7’2 325?
Help me understand your logic.

AO is somewhat quiet but has the makings of a good coach. Folefac wasn't supposed to be the starting center but did well when pressed into starting duties. Mulvey played limited minutes, but when asked to play starters minutes down the stretch, he responded admirably. A very nice passer, and also really helped the team by staying out of foul trouble.

AO will do a good job. Especially with the other three onboard.

Also, I still believe Blackwell is coming. Whether it's as GM, player personnel or as an assistant coach, I'm not sure. But, he would be too valuable to leave behind.

And AO ups the staff's rapper quotient. Great collab on Unfinished Business.

It's a brand new day
The critics gonna doubt us
But the truth is
They don't know nothing about us

Flashy style of play
Stay in the top ten
Just like DJ Khalid says
All we do is win

I just meant he was a 6'9" center who didn't really jump but had a ton of blocks and great post moves. But at least you're not personally attacking me this time. 🙃
