Gerry Staff Predictions…

Gerry thinks AO is a genius at teaching big men. Really. And he has worked with him. After what we have had for big men coaches, I will happily sign up for that.
And Gerry saw what Bernie Fine did for our big men so he had a comparison too. AO also trained with Fine who was considered a top big man coach.

Just need to point out that AO fell about 2 inches from my foot at MSG Big East Tournament. I kept telling him to get up. He was fine. But he wasn't. Obviously I was sitting in the first row. That is my AO story and claim to fame.
Why didn’t you stop him from falling? Cost us a championship.

And neither were plus athletes. Both good players but athletic they were eh.
I remember one specific play that got the dome rocking for AO. AO deflected and stole the ball as the other team passed half court towards their basket. He dribbled towards our basket leading a fast break and ended up dunking the ball. The dome went crazy - only time we ever saw that, it was great because it was so shocking, Lots of high 5’s.

I’m late to this thread, but I like AO as big man coach. He is tough. Does anyone ever remember seeing AO smile?

Coast to coast. I was looking for that video earlier with no luck. Anybody 🤔

No, neither plus athletes, but AO, more athletic. He ran the floor better. Still remember his coast to coast dunk, where he dribbled it up the entire court.

That was AO’s favorite gesture.i remembered most of it correctly. Thanks widget24 for finding the video!
You're welcome! This is one of the AO highlights that was burned into my memory (another unfortunately being the sight of him on the ground in agony in the 2010 BET when our national championship hopes evaporated).
