The coaches need to put their focus into actually coaching during the season and not worrying about prepping themselves for upcoming portal season as well as probably having conversations with donors

Was told yesterday that there is a possibility that the GM may be filled by an interim staff member. Speculation is that the longer term GM may not be immediately available.

That was my guess too but I couldn’t get any further information. Might make sense for Corasaniti to fill that role on an interim basis. Figure he must have access and knowledge of what Kline has been working on the past months. Then bring a new guy in with a fresh start to evaluate potential 2027 portal targets.

if gerry is bringing in an nba guy as gm i would think that guy or womans current contract runs till the end of the nba season.

Somebody from the NBA probably has significant experience scouting college and Euros. So even an assistant scout or someone in a front office probably has the chops to do well in college.

Not to mention if you do a good job as a college GM you probably have a good chance to make an NBA move.

I don't think there's much correlation between a college GM and an NBA one. Completely different skill sets and responsibilities. A college GM and an NBA scout are probably comparable.

I also went right to NBA for the general manager not available yet comments. That was my very first thought as soon as the original post went out on here.
