Was wondering who people would take factoring in everything-Scoring, passing, rebounding, defense. I figure most would take Buddy and I might, but I don't think it's a slam dunk, as most would have thought going in to the year. Buddy is the better scorer, but think JG3 gives you more of the other things.

They’re both basically good at one thing. I’ll take Buddy because he’s 6’5 and we actually have a PG this year that doesn’t need help bringing the ball up.

I’d take a Brandon Triche over both of them.

You think if Buddy's last name was Girard he gets a two way?
The NBA is far too competitive to give away spots and money to guys who don’t belong. IMO.

He’s averaging 10 ppg in the G League and shooting 36% from 3, so at the very least he’s at least shown he belongs at that level and can contribute.

Do you think that the fact that Buddy is 6’5”, is a great shooter, and led the ACC in scoring had anything to do with him getting a two way?
Being 6'5 helped for sure. As for being a great shooter, he shot 36 percent from 3 here. That would not put him in the Top 50 of shooters by percentage this year. Joe's is also 36 percent is he a great shooter too?

Nepotism only goes so far. Why isn't Jimmy in the G League or have a two way deal? The way this board has spoken about Buddy since his recruitment all the way to graduation, you'd think he wasn't deserving of playing P6 Division 1 basketball. First Team All-ACC means something. He's a legit 6'6" and can stroke it from all over the perimeter.

If all you're doing is box score watching and pulling percentages without context, then the discussion doesn't need to go any further. Girard doesn't take quality shots or play with efficiency. He shoots because he has a green light. He has a better percentage than Trevor Cooney, but if you polled this board who'd you want, the board would say Cooney because he was a better player on both ends of the court green light be damned.

Easy Dr. Naismith. Nobody had a greener light than Buddy and Jimmy wasn't a high level player. People hated Cooney during his time here. Not sure why as he grew into a tremendous defensive player or how that factors into the discussion.

How is he defensively?

Yes, Joe is a great shooter. He is not a great shooter when he is being aggressively guarded by an elite athlete but then not many shooters are. He has limitations because of his quickness and height. He is barely 6 ft, and relatively slow, it’s remarkable that he has produced as much as he has. I wish our “fans” appreciated him for what he is and didn’t hate him for what he isn’t.

He’s at 39% this year. I think people nit pick his game a bit much. He’s had a pretty good season. I probably do the same with Edwards and he’s mostly had a good year.

That said we have the weakest group of forwards JB has ever had this season and thats the main reason we lose games.

Yeah. JB’s good teams always had some 6’ 8” guy that was a matchup nightmare and always seemed to put up 20/10. We don’t have that this year. I think I could guard some of these guys and I’m not even drunk.
