Give me your Top 5 NFL QBs of all time, in order.

Snore...the dude won 4 Super Bowls and didn't so much as throw a pick in one...and beat Elway 55-10. Night night John Boy. :)
Lame..when you have the most help you better. Elway got the Broncos there on his back, should've never been there in the first place. Put Montana on the Broncos, and Elway on the niners. Case closed...

1. Y. A. Tittle

That is all.

Best use of the word ever was in "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen".

1. Joe Montana
2. Peyton Manning
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Dan Marino
5. Steve Young

Kudos on the Hipple reference. Fantastic.

Kudos on the Hipple reference. Fantastic.

I had his autograph as a little boy. Between that and growing up watching Billy Sims I was branded a Detroit fan for life.

Top 5 (echoing the rest)
1 Montana
2 Brady
3 Peyton
4 Young
5 Marino

Bottom 5
5 Coy Detmer
4 Bobby Hoying
3 Jeff Kemp
2 Brad Goebel
1 Mike McMahon

I have a keen recall of lots of funny-named athletes from their cards (hockey's even better for this), so I like to pull him out when talking about great Lions of the past.

Use whatever metrics you choose. Maybe you value team success more than personal stats, or vice versa. No ties - that's boring.

Mine:

1. John Elway
2. Joe Montana
3. Tom Brady
4. Peyton Manning
5. Johnny Unitas

Just on the cusp: Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Roger Staubach

1) Joe Montana
2) Tom Brady
3) Terry Bradshaw
4) John Elway
5) Dan Marino

C'mon... Hoying was much worse than Goebel.

  1. Johnny Unitas (he invented the modern QB position and the SB didn't exist during his prime years)
  2. Dan Marino
  3. John Elway
  4. Joe Montana
  5. Peyton Manning

I think Mitchell and Kramer have to be disqualified for riding the back of Barry Sanders to the playoffs.

1. Manning
2. Montana
3. Elway
4. Marino
5. Moon

* I'm only going with QB's I'm old enough to have watched
** I'm not placing as much emphasis on playoff success as some others since the NFL format of the playoffs allows chance to have a greater impact than other professional sports.

My All-Time QBs I factor postseason a lot as I consider Peyton Manning the greatest regular season QB, but he isn't above number 5 because he has gone 1 and out in the playoffs 7 times and 5 of them have been at home and Tom Brady has better postseason numbers and Manning has had better weapons during career except 2007-2011.
1. Joe Montana
2. John Elway
3. Johnny Unitas
4. Tom Brady
5. Peyton Manning
honorable mention: Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Brett Favre, Dan Marino
