So much for the Rice apologists with their "we don't know what really happened on that elevator" BS. Yeah we do. A 200 LB football player punched his fiancée in the face and she got knocked out when her head slammed into the railing. What the fu** was Goodell thinking you know he saw this video!! Unreal

Did he actually see the video? I saw a report that said the NFL turned down the chance to view it.
 
And they need to reopen the issue. There should be zero tolerance for this behavior, kick him to the curb.

The Ravens own Twitter handle tweeted that out the day of Ray Rice's press conference at the Ravens facility. I mean THEY HAD THE VICTIM APOLOGIZE FOR GETTING KNOCKED OUT. I don't care if she spit on him threatened to kill him the force he used was ridiculous.

Goodell saw the video. Its confirmed he saw all the tapes the police of Atlantic City saw in their investigation. I just don't think Sheriff Roger thought they would ever get out.

I googled it and people were claiming the police never released those tapes, but I thought they were B.S. right from the get go.

like I said release all communications between the NFL and Ravens.

The NBA can terminate an owner over words, but the NFL CAN'T TOUCH A PLAYER AS THE PLAYER CAN GIVE A DEVASTATING KNOCKOUT TO A FEMALE.

Double standards here.
 
That video is rough. Wow. That being said, i'm thinking the victim (his now wife) had a role in making sure the penalty wasn't too harsh.
 
I still can't believe how many 'girls fans are still supporting him over the riv. site

"Outside the elevator, he's standing there, looking at his phone, and she comes by and slaps his face.. maybe he said something.

But he then follows her into the elevator. That was an opportunity to defuse the situation by going their separate ways.

Inside the elevator, I have no idea what happened first.. did he slap her back? Did he repeat what he said outside getting her to attack him again? But then you see that he goes tot he other side of the elevator and she came at him, hands and fingernails pointing at his eyes.

He could have stepped to her and punched her in the head anywhere along the route the elevator and when they got into the elevator. But it did not happen until she came at him, his back to the wall. Sure he could/should have handled this a thousand different and better ways. But this was not a typical case of spousal abuse... at least not on Rice's part... it is his fiance who shows the tendency to strike out physically for little reason.

Unless there is some proof that Rice has done this before I think it has been handled well. If he was a cop and was attacked like that and laid out a female attacker there would be no charges, as history as taught us.

He's got almost 2 weeks to revisit the issue. If he doesn't give Rice the 6 week suspension then he'll look even worse. He needs to issue a statement today indicating that he's reviewing his previous ruling in light of new evidence. The media will just kill him, Rice and the Ravens. It'll be on the evening news on all of the networks.

Apparently, I was wrong the NFL and Rog didn't have access to this video. I am guesing either the Ravens pop Rice 4 games more and Rog will have actually get off his high horse and do it himself.

yeah probably. And how about she still married the dude a month later!! Call me crazy but I'd think she'd be running for the hills no matter how much is retrospect she felt she played a "role" in this. But call me crazy...
 
jim brown should be thankful there weren't cameras everywhere back in the day
 
In 2009, LeGarrette Blount got 8 games for punching that Boise State player in college. Ray Rice is lucky Commissioner Goodell isn't Chip Kelly.

If Jim Brown did it in a casino elevator then it would have been recorded. Their have always been cameras in casino elevators, and I would hammer Jim Brown if he did again.
