Horan thought he might draw interest from some more prominent programs when he entered the transfer portal but wasn’t counting on Syracuse to be among them. Horan was excited to hear SU assistant coach Lelan Rogers was considering him among a number of players the team needed to address some depth needs on defense.
"They said they needed someone from a character standpoint,” Horan said. “To say that now I’d be a Syracuse lacrosse player would be a dream of mine.”

Tenaglia tapped into a connection to get a look from SU. His dad is friends with former Orange All-American Dom Fin. Fin asked Syracuse offensive coordinator Pat March to review some video of Tenaglia, and March loved what he saw. “Once I heard Syracuse (was interested), I knew it was a done deal,” Tenaglia said of his options.

SU is a school of second chances for two Furman lacrosse players

Defender Cole Horan and attack Brett Tenaglia are transferring to SU from Furman, which dropped its lacrosse program.

Both were also very high on SU out of high school but SU didn't show any interest.
