I worked at 1 Chase Plaza - the address for that building in the late 80's - early 90's. When it was finally built it was a trendsetter as it provided a large open space plaza which was a rarity at the time. NYC forced David Rockefeller to provide the open space in order to build such a tall building in lower Manhattan. The below picture shows the plaza it during it's current renovation.
