GS had a good Game

People will still criticize his passing but he had a number of good throws. Not a lot deep but his legs force a D to respect his running ability which allows him to make the immediate to short passes.

I agree. Not sure what in the hell the first two offensive drives were about but after that, our coaches set up plays better to take advantage of his skillset.

Rolling him out of the pocket was really working. Unfortunately we won’t see a defense as bad as FSUs here on out. Hopefully what we saw today was a qb starting to settle in and build confidence, and not the product of playing a really bad defense.

I said it in the game thread but Shrader is a warrior and the guy is all heart. He may make some questionable decisions like the play where he threw across his body into the endzone but I’ll live or die by what he brings to the table.

There have been quite a few times I thought in December the basketball team wouldn’t win a league game. Fortunately I’m always wrong.

FSU has good athletes and did well limiting tucker. Not every team we play will have the same DL.
They will have better offenses. Our D made some mistakes this week that hurt but I see them getting cleaned up.
What we cannot do is keep trying to run up the middle either with tucker or GS. We need to move the pocket more often.
I saw people were down on GS the first quarter and a half but to me that was play calling. Once he was given some freedom you saw what he is capable of doing.

I don’t believe FSU is the worst team on the schedule. Not at all.

They are worse than Wake, Clemson, Louisville, NC State, and Pitt. They are probably better than BC. VA Tech is hard to read. The are definitely at the bottom for sure.

Their D Line is very tough against the run, gotta give them that.

Shrader seems to question why we didn't open it up more to start the game. We scored 30 points in the last 3 Qs and on top of that screwed up twice in goaline and messed up the end of the half. We left points on the field the last 3 Qs and called a garbage 1st Q and still scored 30.
