GS had a good Game

Not comparing GS to Dungey, but he doesn’t have the WR’s that the latter had. No Ish, Amba, Ervin, Custis.
Ish and Custis were both big targets with speed. What happened to this?
Todays the first day the position has looked good as a whole maybe since 2018. Without Taj.

Per the above discussion Tommy was given every chance to succeed here.
If Taj doesn’t drop that dime in the endzone against ND maybe it plays out differently.

I am so confused on why people are still calling for Tommy. I have been in GS from the beginning and he will only get better from here. The only thing Tommy can do better is throw it deep, other than that GS is much better at every aspect of the position.
He can be accurate on short to medium range passes. I am guessing that his accuracy will improve with more practice. He also has a high football IQ to Tommy’s non existent.
I wish Tommy success going forward and I think he should transfer to a place that will allow him to be successful after this season.

I saw enough yesterday to be confident that he can and will be a solid mid range passer. If he can hit 50% of the deep shots that is more than enough and I think he will get there with reps. Dude hasn't played a lot of QB in the past few years and already looks so much better from early in the season. I have had so much apathy about this team since 2019 and yesterday was the first time in years that I was legit screaming at the TV and into the game.

If Shrader got the keys to the offense for Game 1 I think we’re sitting pretty at 5-0 right now.
4-1 maybe. He had the keys on this one. Gilbert just wouldn't let him drive it until midway through the second quarter. That is part of this issue. If you want the young man to drive the Ferrari fast, he cant have handcuffs on when he is doing it.

Disagree about Dungey struggling with the deep balls-He was a very accurate deep-ball thrower. If anytihng, he struggled with the sideline passes.
Good thing about Shrader is he looks like a very good QB, but not a professional QB, at least not at this point. That could give us close to 3 years of him.
Hot take - Dungey's deep ball sucked but he had guys like Amba, Ish and Lobdell that could snag ducks over cbs.

Edit to add: I'm keeping Lobdell there because it makes for a better hot take. Scorching in fact.

True but to be clear it doesn't matter how great it looks, just matters that the QB can put it where the receiver can get it. If those guys caught it then he did his job right? Shrugs...nothing else matters. TD can put it there nicer but that does not seem to be translating to anything or he would be playing right now. My hot take. I liked ED...I like TD...I like GS... I like whomever leads the offense to points and wins no matter their style.

He had me worried a bit after that first quarter but he definitely turned it around for sure.
Was stuck at a wedding and that’s about all I saw, was in the depths of despair most of the day until late last night finally reading my friends comments at the end of the game as well as the posts here. There’s hope! Big hope going forward

Sarcasm right?
No it’s not rather it’s someone desperately clinging to the hope that Devito, not Shrader, is the answer (look back at the threads on it, it was a long protracted war fought mostly on the ground but some in the air! - lol).

I don’t believe FSU is the worst team on the schedule. Not at all.
FSU's recruiting rankings over the past 4 years have been 11, 18, 22, 22 (247 sports) if you doubled the worst ranking and made it 44 it's still better than ours. They should've could've would've beaten ND and J State which they would now be 3-2. No shame in losing by 3 at Doak although we probably should have won, hope the guys use that as motivation and don't let the next close one get away.

Hot take. I don’t see how someone can insult someone’s football IQ as “non-existent” and in the same sentence say they “wish them sucess going forward”

You don’t see how, well that sounds like a you problem haha.

That’s sounds like someone who wasn’t really sincere in their post. I’d put money you want to see him enter the portal just like Taj did

Shrader really missed one by throwing that long ball on 3rd and 7 with 1:15 left in the game. Sean Tucker is WIDE OPEN at the sticks in the middle of the field. Tucker not only would've had an easy first down he maybe runs for another 10 or even 20. The next closest defender to him was 15 yards away. FSU gave us the 1st down there and Shrader never even looks at Tucker. He's looking deep the whole time.

(Queeley butchered that to as he clearly misjudges the throw. Ball might've hit him in stride if he didn't slow up and then fall down backwards.)
