Rutgers, our biggest football rival, makes sense
seeing all you people clamor for Rutgers brings a tear to my eye.
makes me wonder if my work is done here and I should move on...

I like the UCLA suggestion. Screw what's practical or good for the program. I want to see SU play in the Rose Bowl.
Rutgers.
It makes sense for scheduling for success.
It makes sense if we get good again, because their conference affiliation isn't changing.
It makes sense for recruiting.
It makes sense for our fanbase to get to see the away game, whether local or NYC or Philly or DC.
It makes sense no matter what, so it will probably never happen.
Much of our fanbase spends enough energy opposing it to actually mean they're interested in it.
It makes sense but I do not want to even dignify that program.
And I feel the same way about UConn - maybe even more so.
I can't believe we are playing that hack program again.

It brings a tear to my eye as well - and an upset stomach.
UConn and Rutgers - that's like chopped liver and Brusselsl sprouts - yuck!

Couldn't agree more on UConn.
But Rutgers found their way to the big boy table, even if it's a small chair on the end and no one can, nor wants to, see you sitting there.
Brussel sprouts are quite popular these days.
Chopped liver is one of my favorite foods.
And so is Oxycodone.
But I don't want it and I don't want Rutgers or UConn on our schedule.
We clearly go to different dining establishments.
Was heartened to read Wildhack's take on our schedule today, which pretty much blows this whole thread up.
This is assuming it'll be our 1 "hard" OOC opponent when we're back to a solid level of competing in all of our games. I'd love to see us do a H&H with Stanford. I think that would be a cool East/West matchup between two private schools. PAC12 vs ACC. We would also love to have the level of success that Stanford has sustained, and I'm sure we wouldn't mind as fans being the Stanford of the East.
Who ya got?
Yep...brings a tear to my eye also. Shows how far SU football has fallen.seeing all you people clamor for Rutgers brings a tear to my eye.
