Ha Ha Rutgirls!

Rutgers has athletes on the field. They have no QB and that is why they suck. They need OL and a QB and that team will compete in the B1G. Louisville's defense impressed me and showed they aren't as big a fraud as I thought. Louisville is a legit top 10 team and while they won't finish in the top 2 they need to beat the SEC team they will play in the Sugar Bowl again and it will make them more legitimate going into next year. They won't have Bridgewater in the ACC next year, but Charlie Strong is a helluva coach. I took the points with Rutgers because I knew they would lose but scrap enough to make it a game. If Rutgers had Nassib or Hunt they would probably be a top 20 team because of their defense and special teams. If Doug Marrone had Rutgers talent the past 4 years they are a BCS bowl team atleast once. I did laugh when David Pollack called Brandon Coleman Megatron like it was hilarious. Let Coleman run a 4.2 40 and he is Megatron.

Rutgers has better WR's than SU, just poorly coached and used. For the nth straight year their run game and OL is a dumpster fire.
Which is inexplicable considering the caliber of recruits they bring in at those positions.
Jeremy Deering is their poster boy for misused players - brought in as a highly-rated QB, with offers from many of the big boys (Florida, Fla. State, S. Carolina, etc.). In his career at RU, he has played wildcat QB, RB, WR and now S.

it sucks when that happens to you but I'm glad we're not trying to build a program around that smoke and mirrors horsesh!t

Don't be so sure, guess who is #1 in blocked kicks, #2 in blocked punts in the country?

Since it pretty much happened all in one game it's probably not a trend.

Rutgers has athletes on D.. not sure that style of play will work in the B10 with teams like Wisc/OSU/Mich/MSU that will have big time Oline guys. You have to have a scheme more than hope the D scores twice and we block 2 kicks a game.
They have skill plays at WR, they have no clue how to use them with that Oline

Strong is a great recruiter, which is one of the most important aspects of coaching. But (borrowing from some of the familiar themes on this board) there were some really questionable play calls last night, the team had difficulty converting in the red zone, they turned the ball over 3 times, their ST play was weak, and under Strong the Cards have been prone to some ugly What losses every year (like UConn last year, Florida International and Marshall in 2011). On the other hand, they looked impressive in last year's Sugar Bowl.

Don't get me wrong Strong isn't perfect, but I think the most important thing a college coach has to do is be able to recruit. Then second it is being able to coach the talent you have. Marrone got a C from me as a recruiter and an A for the being able to coach the talent. Strong is probably the reverse, but the better talent you get the more margin you have.

LOL, yeah just dial that up. That's all they need. Lots of teams can compete if they could only get OL and a QB.

Their OL were highly recruited kids by the way.

Nova's really not that bad. When they had camera views from behind Nova you could see the LVille defense had his 4 star WR's blanketed.

Listen, I don't like Rutgers because their fanbase thinks they actually matter in college football when they have been the definition of mediocre. However, that team has athletes and those athletes allow them to compete with teams on the field. Nova is a terrible QB he failed to throw the ball away numerous times when the pressure came and took sacks. Any team with a legitimate defense will always shutdown Nova. Rutgers needs a QB and they will be good because of the athletes they have at WR, DB, DE, LB and their special teams. I hate their fans, but they aren't going to suck they will just lose to teams with equal talent because of their shitty coaching.

The last I checked Rutgers is rated above Syracuse in every ranking poll. Louisville will pound on Cuse next year.
