Had home Basketball games last weekend and this weekend

Disappointing we have some recruits coming in 2 weekends from now when the basketball team is on the road. We got to start getting recruits on campus earlier in the year. I believe we've had 1 recruiting weekend the whole year to this point and it's January.

Its the first weekend of the year, what are you talking about?

If you mean from when the school year started, the colleges wait for the high school football season including playoffs to end so beginning of December is really the first time to start having recruiting weekends. About the middle of December we hit a dead period for recruiting until after the Holidays...so there really are only about 2 open weekends that have passed and we used one of them in December.

No you are right on that as well, those seem to be more localized recruits...but if you look who came in December and who is coming in the next two weeks, its the kids from further away...GA/FLA

I could be wrong, but I thought I remebered Jeremi Wilkes (from Florida) making a recruiting visit during Marrone's 1st year when we rocked Rutgers.

Late November, after the high school season finished...11/21/2009...which is the weekend before T-day.

I think the idea there is to try to be the last visit for those kids - especially the ones that have already verballed. You don't want to have them up in early January and then have some other school bring them in after that and wow them.

Students will all be back by then and classes in full swing so they get the real feel for the campus.

One of the big parts of recruiting trips is the party. If there are no students (girls) on campus, the recruit doesn't get the party, which can absolutely play a huge role in a commitment. So the last 4 weekends were a no-no because there's no one on campus.
