Harris looked like a live wire compared to Butler. Speed and quickness of Erv in a taller package.

Butler's athletic ability isn't in question...his hands are. In fact, I would argue that his raw potential is the only reason the staff hasn't given up on him.

He must be great n practice which leads me to believe that his game time issues are mental...kind of like All Star 2nd baseman Chuck Knoblach throwing to first base.

When it comes to WR they either have good hands or they dont. Sure you can get them to improve but its like a shooter in bball you either are a natural at it or not. Harris according to camp reports seems to be a natural.

Yeah Nykeim’s run after that little shovel pass is something we just haven’t seen at WR in Babers’ tenure. He’s not better than amba, erv and Ish but he may be more athletic. The Riley/Butler combo isn’t getting it done.

I know there are a lot of factors at RB but I’d be splitting carries between Howard and Neal (where has Pierre gone, btw?) and toying with moving Strick to the slot to help out there.

Main reason I watched the game was to see what kind of depth we are building, drops can happen and Butler has the athleticism, but drops in league play could stop drives, kill momentum and lead to losses.
This is why you build depth, next guy up and I really think we will win more games than people think.
Would like to see more of Howard too, I know it was Wagner but, he has the frame to compete now.
Finally, it seems that some of these freshman seem physically bigger that kids over the last few years.
Looking forward to FSU.

Hendrix hurt his knee late in camp. Saw him on the sidelines yesterday. Jersey, no helmet or pads.

One thing about butler though is he blocks hard. I know you need more than that from wr1 but some of the young kids may struggle in that area.

It’s an interesting dilemma bc they are better than what we have and provide depth now. We have to win this year but I get the depth issue too.

I don’t think so. Harris is on the two deep. Howard is the 3rd string RB. We need them both if we are going to be successful this year.

I saw a lot of tight windows for ED to throw to yesterday, not a lot of separation...not nearly as much as there should have been vs a team like Wagner. Harris has to play. Edit: As well as the Johnsons
