thats called the grobbycakes blackout syndrome.
everyone and their grandmother was doing the Fn jig when he was hired. excitement level for football was at apex. i think all expected 8- 9 and maybe 10 wins in year 1. even the Pro-P people like myself were excited for a change.
its ok to not remember your excitement or the grobbycakes years in genral, all here are dealing with it in their own way. personally, i never want to forget them, it will make any winning in the future all the better. sorta like the dave brown-kent graham-danny kannel years or the isiah NYK years.
i might've kept my mouth shut because i might've wanted pasqualoni gone or something like that but i promise you that the feeling in my stomach was something between painful gas and epic squirts the second I heard "west coast offense"thats called the grobbycakes blackout syndrome.

i was excited for mcnabb because my friend at the DO talked up mcnabb so much over beers but i don't remember it being commonly known that he was amazing before UNC. i think people are more excited now

Yeah if I remember correctly the decision to start McNabb over Keith Downing and Kevin Johnson wasn't made until the week prior to that game.
august of 1994, probably! it was always going to be mcnabb, he was doing unbelievable things in practice his redshirt yearIt wasn't publicly announced until the game. McNabb won the job in August.

there was a buzz for sure. maybe because i still knew guys on the hill, maybe because i naivly believed we were on the cusp of a National Championship, but just remember being told...better than graves, better than even mcpherson...and 4 years of it was headed my way.Maybe I'm mistaken, but I remember being VERY excited for McNabb.
