Questions need to be asked about this hire? How long do we let a bad hire take this program back down? I have no faith in HCSS anymore. I lost it today.

Defense: He was suppose to be a defensive guy and when a your D Coordinator comes at you and says I want to run a 3-4 with the safeties 15 yards deep every play against the read option you should put the VETO on that crap ASAP.

Offense: How can you stand by and watch the OC keep calling play after play for Gulley while Smith never gets the ball. I -ING thought we were past that crap.

Special Teams: Finally hold them on third down and having to take a timeout because the punt return team cant make it on the field in time??

Seems the team discipline is taking a major step back.


This was bad. Real bad. One of the worst performances in a while.

Ok let me ask you this. What have you seen so far this year that gives you hope HCSS will be a good head coach? I haven't seen much if anything that gives me hope. His team looks unorganized and lacks discipline. I have seen this show before last time we went down this path we still haven't recovered yet.

My only hope right now is that some of these guys have great track records for recruiting top talent. So maybe in a year or two we can out talent some of these middle of the road ACC teams.

Marrone didnt have a great first year. 4-8 i think. Granted he had less talent (not that this team has much talent either). But i get what your saying. Marrone was a discipline master, something i am not seeing with HCSS. At some points this yr, this team has brought back images of Grob's teams. Something I dont remember seeing much with Marrone's teams.

I still believe in Shafer, but he better be able to pull the trigger if need be, and that's not after waiting a year or 2 too long.

With that said I thought we were done with the embarrassing blow out losses where we looked totally out classed. I can live with losses, but 3 of these losses this year are giving me horrible flashbacks. We may not be the most talented team, but this team isn't that much out classed where we should be getting ran off the field. I really hope HCSS uses the rest of this season as an evaluation period. There are a couple people who should be on the hot seat right now. I really hope it doesn't come to it, but i'd like to see something done by year end if things are still going the way they are now.

offensively Marrone had better talent the past couple years, but I do not believe we had better talent on defense at any time during Marrone's 4 years. I actually believe this defense is pretty talented with some good depth. It's not talent when you aren't with 15 yards of a receiver, or aren't first touching a running back until they are 5 yards down field. That right there is a DC not putting your players in position

It is not just one game or the heat of the moment. This is the 3rd game this season that we were ran out of the building without even putting up a fight. Its like every other game. That is a major cause for concern IMO. I am ok having a 5-7 season if we are competitive in those 7 losses like the PSU game. I am not fine or OK with getting housed every other game. Players look lost and not ready to play and that falls on the head coach. How can you not have cause for concern?

It's embarrassing that HCSS says they've practiced for this game since the summer. Imagine being on this team. You just practiced for this game since the summer and you lose 56-0 lmao. Pretty sure that screams coaching staff issues.

that is my major concern. we never ever looked completely over matched in every aspect under Marrone. I had all the confidence in the world in that staffs game planning. It's a big reason I wish Shafer stayed heavily involved with the defense. These blowouts are very troubling
