one minor quibble. WE LOST!
I'm guessing you aren't a fan of the movie "Rocky". Sometimes tells me you'd miss the point of the movie.

"What's the big deal, he lost! Loser."

The Pope was even praying for a SU win today too as the rest of the gang was watching the game on ESPN.

AJ has a great deal of upside. With the way we lose personnel to the turf, having a qualified supporting player really helps your team. Remember Rex Culpepper (greatest name for a recruit ever) is nursing a major injury. He may need time.

IMO, from watching today's game I don't see much difference between Mahoney and Long. Dungey #1. Mahoney and long can duke it out next year for #2. I wonder if culpepper is athletic enough to run Lester's offense but anyway redshirt him and should be good

Pretty much what I think about Mahoney and Long except that Mahoney takes better care of the ball.

i congratulated the team for hanging close and not getting blown out above.
but if that's your benchmark for coaching excellence then yes we are on different pages.
you really are something else

Good game. This one gives SU an amount of respectability - I don't know how much, or in which circles, but they earned something, today. Halfway into the season, two years ago, I was ready to give up on Shafer, but I got turned around today. I hope to see more from Eric Dungey this season - pleasant surprise there. Good job, SU.

I hope to see an article like Adazzio gets on ESPN for "hanging tough" with FSU...

How many future NFL guys do we have on our offense.

sounds like you have a beef with the coaching staff and recruiters and not with me.
Why don't you give it a rest, every post you ever make is a negative post, you must have a sad life, all you ever do is complain.

The only criticism I have regarding the coaching was the number of option plays to the short side of the field. That play really needs room laterally to be successful.

To date I have not been a SS fan. Until today I thought he was over his head and continually looked unprepared against the better teams. That changed today and for the first time I am starting to believe we have the man for the job. Just a job well done. Kudos to him and the staff.

You really have to credit the staff and team for a complete 60 minute effort today. Now, the challenge is to regroup and focus on USF. 1st road game for a lot of players, but it's important to go down there and grab a win and keep the momentum going.

As my grandfather would say, some men could find a way to bitch with a tit in their mouth.

We played a helluva game, well coached, and close enough to make us all feel like if we had Dungey, we might've won. Overall a great experience from which any number of great positives can be taken, it just didn't have the desired result on the scoreboard.

Your grandfather is my kinda guy!!!! God bless him!!!

It certainly set up Brisly's reverse.

It setup some of the passing, as did the dives between the tackles.

I can honestly say only Ole Miss and Bama are definitely better at stopping the run than SU ... against MSU Spaulding had 77 yards on 15 carries against SU he needed 21 carries to get to 83 yards ... and we all know how high in esteem MSU is held.

We were in the game mid way thru the fourth quarter. So how was the score not indicative of how close the game was?

Not only that we were only down 4 at half ... LSU had Auburn wrapped up by then up 24-0 and went into cruise control vs MSU and allowed them to sneak back in allowing 13 points in the 4th quarter. We were by far their stiffest test this season thus far ... people just can't allow themselves to like Shafer it is what it is.
